Re: Taking it easy the rest of the year
Good luck Olds, sorry you still are in a slump......it does make you go "hmmmm???" doesnt it???But as a fellow UCONN basketball fanatic (mens and womens), I am jealous of your easy access to their games! I usually go a couple times per year to Gampel, and of course I always see them when they come to Hartford......but either way, having BOTH the Men's and WOMEN's champioships in the same year (for the thrid time in history, something NO school will likely match for a LONNNNNG time) we can have pride that no one else can!!On the downside, I saw the last second loss to Texas the othernight, when Ryan Boatright went down.....what a sad, ugly injury and a clear blow to this season's hopes

"Anything is possible in VP, but something is not right that I cannot put my finger on"More jackpots occur with single coin play. Someday this will be common knowledge. I have no idea why this is so, but you heard it here first... Just thought I would give you something to think about over the holidays.

Hi guys. Phil, those stats of mine are for single line games!!!! That tells you there how much business I have given them. More hours than a full time job, that is for sure and unfortunately for negative pay too. My other full time job is watching over the folks, for which I am so thankful to have that opportunity at their age and mine too. That is why most of my play is at crazy hours in the middle of the night. Would be unable to do both that is for sure if the ride was any longer than the hour it is.
DB...I tried to get extra tickets for the game with UCLA on the 21st, but no dice in fact they said the 2 they released to me were an error, but they won't take them back. Nice of them huh...
I play very few multi line games at Mohegan and if I kept stats on those, they would be even worse than those below. That is why I am running my little experiments with the machines. I have played one coin quarters at least 60 hours or more and unfortunately have had strings of dud hands you wouldn't believe when going to max bet.
I find it very odd indeed that I can last much longer with the same money played on 88% or so penny games than on vp even 9/6 job.
Unfortunately, I don't think if I will find out if something is amiss until I switch my play to Foxwoods, and even if results do a 180 there, it possible in this big Universe that everything could be coincidence.

olds, i have been reading your posts and you are not alone. When i started the thread about whether folks were seeing the cost of playing VP go up over the past few years, some agreed while others denied anything fishy was going on at the casinos. On a recent casino visit that lasted 12 hours, i hit quad A with the kicker and was dealt quad 2 with the kicker, both on TDB. A good day for me, but i still walked out only up a couple of hundred. Years ago, a couple of good hits like that and i was going home up nealy a grand. In your case, when you are not getting any good hits, the losses can add up real quick. I know, been there done that. You start to question whether you are playing properly and start second guessing yourself. Lower pay tables, high fixed casino expenses, more competition and whatever the casinos are doing to increase their advantage (legal or not) and the cost of gambling has increased for the majority. Just watch how many folks are playing 1 or 2 coins, they are doing it to stretch out their play or they are all playing Phil's system.

Yes, I see quite a few more players playing 1 or 2 coins. That will be me too on the next trip. Luckily, for some reason, the casino took some old IGT machines from the early 90's and put all new guts in them. Lots of game choices and at the nickel and up level. The paytables are only in the 97% range, but at least I can play, hopefully enjoy myself, maybe hit something, and not go home out anywhere from 500-1200 for just one session. The best part about these is that on the spin poker games, the Royal pays 800 for 1 for just 5 cents bet. I don't know anywhere in the country where that is programed in. It probably won't last forever. So I can sit there with my beer, play 3 or 5 lines for almost nothing per hour and try and relax for a change. On the other side of these machines is a bank of the same old IGT games. The wife has been killing them on the Multi-Streak game at the nickel level. No Royals, but hitting aces quads with kickers and multipliers. This bank does not offer the 800 for 1 option for 1 coin bet, but if you are lucky, you can clean up on those. Especially if you hit something like the lady playing next to my wife did. Aces quads with a kicker and 10 multiplier. That would be a vman dream hit. To get that option though, you have to bet 15 plus 15 nickels for the multiplier option to be available. That gets really expensive on a cold snap.
