[QUOTE=DaBurglar] unreal......absolutely unreal......I'm properly ecstatic for you and the lady Larry, truly.....but good gravy!  How the flip do you manage to grab all these amazing hands so consistently??....

As I get older I have pondered your question over the last few years many times....
First, since I was a young child I've always been amazed by my mom's physic abilities and have always been open to the power of positive thinking and physic influences. Physic events have always been very strong in my life with premonitions, dreams, and deja vu feelings. I've learned to accept them and also determine when its a "wish" and when it's more physic. Meryl Streep where have you been all my life...

Second, when I was growing up my Mom always told me "I was special..." I'm sure she told all of us that but my siblings are 8-10 years older and younger than me so I don't remember. But, I always felt that way. My parents grew up in the Depression era. Dad (a first generation German immigrant's son after WWI) had to give up a full scholarship to Rice University-Engineering to work in construction to help out his family. He worked with his hands the rest of his life. He did read voraciously and had a photographic memory. Mom never graduated from high school. In hindsight I didn't even realize how poor we were until I reached college. (Perhaps it is genes - brilliant dad and physic mom.)

I am not especially smart and don't have special talents/skills. But, working hard, treating everyone with dignity and respect and doing the "right thing especially when no one was watching" were character traits that were stressed. Setting goals and positively focusing on them, visualizing them, and preparing for them has lead to incredible life opportunities. For whatever reason, my life has been blessed with "golden opportunities" for leadership/success throughout school, college, career, and life. (Perhaps it like my Boy Scout motto, "Be Prepared".)

Finally, I have always been a positive. Tragedy has always been balanced by joyous events. My father died shortly after we learned we were having our first child; the week my sister died alone I witnessed a fatal car crash and was able to comfort the young man who died; a divorce led to finding my "soul mate" Sweet C; a heart attack at 48 led to me to reevaluating my life and being able to retire at 56. For every negative there has been a positive. So, in reflection, my life has always been full of blessings - Long live life and "LUCK".

Great trip LL I am sure you are glad you bypassed Golden Nugget & Lauberge. I liked GN except for the loud music. We plan on going back to Coushatta this weekend. Wish us luck

Best wishes and many RF and big hits to you. Look forward to your report.

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes and congratulations. I was able to spend part of the day with mom, dinner with my wife and a brother/SIL, and enjoying another day of life. I hope all of you have a similar wonderful birthday.

Now I'm looking forward to Christmas with family and then New Year's Eve since some of my biggest RF have been on NYE/NY Day.

You are welcome LL. First of all, I hear you regarding physic abilities, esp, or whatever you want to call it. My mom and I both have it sometimes, but not all of the time. When I was about 8, I could make a small toy car roll just about half an inch or a pencil turn about an eighth of a turn on the table, but I can't do it anymore. I only seem to be able to sense the imminent event, but not make it happen. For instance, I am back from another Mohegan Sun overnight. Nothing special and no big hits or anything. After playing Deuces Wild for hours and hours on one bank of machines and being down several hundred, I gave up, headed for a break, some coffee or just a walk. Since the bars were closed, I had the place almost to myself. I walked by one of the bars with my ticket and something told be to put it in on one of the bartop machines which I hardly ever play. I figured I would try just a few hands because something told me to stop there. On the third hand, the Deuces quads came out. Took my break, turned in, since it was already getting light and later in the morning I decided to play just job before heading home. Five hours later, no quads. Took the small remainder of the ticket, put it in another machine and said to myself...alright you are not going to let me win this session and you wouldn't give me any job quads, but at least let me see there is a quad in there somewhere. ( That is me talking to the machine ) The machine was set on job and I played ten instead of five. A couple of hands later, up pops the quad 2's on job. Of course it has to be deuces quads. Anyway, the point I am making is I can sense things just before they happen and not just on vp. Probably just as well I cannot control them. Happy Birthday again and good luck and most importantly good health to all for the coming New Year.

Thanks Larry for sharing those points about your life, and for offering them as your explanation for your apparent good luck.   After reading your story, I am deeply impressed with your perspective.I am not, myself, a guru of "positive thinking" but I will agree that there is some value in seeing the plus side of any situation and not dwelling on the negative......I do not believe in simply ignoring or overlooking real problems or opportunities for improvement, but instead I believe in fixing that which can be fixed, and then "living" with whatever is left.I would love to know if Bob Dancer, or Shadowman even, believe in "positive thinking" when it comes to VP?

Congrats LL. Good to see you're still hitting great hands.

Personally I haven't had much in the way of ESP. That's why I try to play only when I have an advantage. Rather than positive thinking, I usually try anti-negative thinking. What's that you say?

Well, it's kind of like this. When I'm doing well I don't need to focus on anything special, but when I'm doing poorly I try to focus on the fact I'm playing positive games and my luck should eventually change. Of course, this really has no bearing but it prevents me from having negative thoughts.

My Royal drought finally came to an end. After 249 consecutive misses at drawing to 4RF, I hit 3 times in 3 trips (in about 15 opportunities). My anti-negative thinking tells me I'm still due about 3 more. ;)

While the majority of the time I try to stay positive there are events that have happened (while not playing career politics) that its hard for me just forget and I haven't found all positives in them. Maybe I just need to look harder because my fate would have been different had I changed an event.

Psychics...now that I'm not so sure of...

I can certainly understand and accept your view. Physics yes, psychic ?
There are a lot of physics theories that are hard for me as a laymen to understand but I still accept the physical law/property/theory because the majority of physicists say it is so. There seem to be a lot of people who believe in things they can't prove. I believe there are many unknowns when it comes to the power of the mind. I see it is as a special talent that has to be developed/nurtured like all other talents.

What would you call the instantaneous premonition that someone is going to call and within a few seconds they do? This may happen to me a half dozen times a week with both family and non-family but especially with my youngest daughter. I often get those same type premonitions when playing VP. Sweet C will tell you I may just call out a hand correctly while cards are being dealt 5-6 times in a session. It comes to me instantly and is very strong. It is very different than when I know its my hoping for a special hand....
