Re: Where have the quad aces w/k gone?
I hit Aces w/k a week ago on the Fort $.25 progressive. $534.XX Older upright machines that have been there forever.Speaking of the Fort. The "new" machines with FP DDB & TDB have paid me squat. Not a single quad yet after more than a grand split between the two games.Moved to some older slant tops with a $100 caught Aces on 8/5 TBP for $1200. on the 4th hand. Switched to 9/5 DDB and caught a $1 Royal on the left overs of the $100.Not understanding these new machines at all, and getting very gun shy.CK

Congrats on the Fort progressive AWAK. Years ago, I hit my first ever AWAK progressive on that bank. In recent years we gave up on VP at the Fort, particularly as we were constantly going home without any positive results playing the $.25 DDB progressive and other machines. So our treks there have been for bingo only. However, after you mentioned the new bank with the 10/7 DDB, we tried it before bingo and actually came out ahead. Will probably give it another go again during another bingo trip.

I just spent 6 nights in Vegas. Only saw one AWAK, and I was playing $1 deuces. :(

Brutal. I've only had one AWAK lifetime while playing DDB/TDB. But I don't play tons of DDB/TDB either. I may have half a dozen total since I ever started keeping good track of all my quads (since 2013) and getting 1 on of them on DDB/TDB would be about right with the game choices I make (usually pick the highest return game).

Vman I didn't even post this out of frustration, but on my last trip to Mohegan, I pretty much busted the budget except for a tiny ticket in my wallet for 35 cents I had been carrying around for a couple of weeks. I stuck it in the lone nickel Multi Strike machine and set the game on TDB which I rarely play. I only played the bottom line for a lone nickel. I was dealt AWAK... Serves me right I guess. After that, I just went to the bar, and had a cold beer. At least I had enough from that hit to tip the bartender.

My g/f got AWAK while playing our traditional "VP challenge" at Fitzgerald's Tunica where you play any game of your choice one nickel at a time for $1 and the object to to survive on that dollar for about 15 minutes. She was playing JoB at the time and won $1.25. Now when we do this...we have upped it to five dollars and play DDB for 5 nickels (their best game on those machines anyway).
Even though she is very conservative about gambling so it's really a bad game choice, she loves DDB...I guess that's what you get when you hit dealt Aces and redraw to the kicker (nickel level) within your first few months of passively trying the game. And what night was that? The same night I hit my last Royal (2c level). And apparently I pulled King-Jack like she did last month.
She hasn't hit AWAK on DDB since, just a few Aces. But with her recent Royal at Super DDB for nickels, it should keep her happy for a little while I guess...
