what do we want from casinos

Positive (OK, near-positive) expectation games. General cleanliness. Friendly staff. At least one decent, reasonably-priced restaurant. A well-run poker room. A balloon (why not?) Blackjack and/or craps match play now and again. If I can think of anything more I'll post it later, but those would be the big ones for me.

Completely smoke free casino and that would take care of 90% of the filth we have to play in sometimes. I bring my own wipes for whatever machine I play. Hope I don't put the cleaning staff out of a job. Next, really good paytables with buttons that work, friendly and helpful staff, decent restaurants or food court with reasonable prices, ease of parking, comp hotel rooms, 24 hour gaming, and last, but not least, pretty and friendly waitresses.

Ban cigars and fix the damn sticky buttons, please!!  You got that right Phil. I put the service light on and a slot tech came and asked if I need help. I said could we get someone to fix the buttons on these machines?( Bar Top) I hate having to touch the screen. She said people spill drinks in them. NO CHIT! I said that's no reason not to fix them. I see these workers test the buttons and find and fix the bad ones when I ask. But most the time they are standing and talking. They got an easy job just take a little pride in your work and open them machines when its slow and test them buttons!

non-smoking areas usually have the non appealing slotsYes indeed. Inferior pay tables at higher denominations. I would love to play in the non smoking section. Everything is much cleaner. Everyone is much more friendly and reserved. But they lose lose lose given what they have to work with. You have to squat there to discover a relatively loose machine there to enable some play. If they could only move two machines to that promised land, I would be thrilled.

How about enforcing the rules of "seats are for players only"? I love it when there's a bank of machines and half are taken up by people watching other people play or how about the uncaring people who use the slant top machines to eat pizza and nachos with ONE credit in the machine or better yet...nothing at all.

 absolutely agree! my last trip, there was a gal playing 2 coins and one guy on each side watching. i mentioned this kind of thing before and i know we can ask if they are playing, but where is the common courtesy, to let others play.

No one cares if the casino is empty, but you shouldn't take up a seat if you're not going to play when it's crowded.  If this happens to me and I want to play there, I walk up to them and ask politely if anyone is playing that machine.  Most of the time they are happy to give it up.  I'm sure there are places in the country where they will fight you for this, but most people do it without hesitation.  Of course I don't play in AC....

   In a similar vein: if a person is sitting at a machine and not playing it but instead watching their spouse/significant other play the machine next to them; if someone comes up and asks if they can play the machine the person not playing it should get up and move so the person who wants to play the machine can play the machine.

  once in  a while, someone will get up and offer you the seat. but, more often than not, they do not. i just think it is a lack of courtesy.
