Re: Machine thats just paid
Vman, the casino was very cool, very routine about it. It was a $1 machine, so I won $8000 on the two royals combined. My understanding is that the RNG continues to spin even when the machine is locked up for a handpay, and it took the attendant at least 15 or 20 minutes to complete the paperwork and pay me for the 1st royal, so I rationalize that it wasn't truly back to back hands as far as the RNG was concerned.
At the time I was preparing to have an irrigation system installed on my lawn for my then-newly purchased home in Arizona, so the $8K quickly went to a good use!!
Correction to original post: It was Treasure Bay, not Treasure Chest. Memory fades with delightfully advancing age.....

A belated congrats on a back to back royal from the past! Thanks for sharing! It certainly goes to show that it is possible for a machine to give out big wins in a short span.I have seen a $5 slot machine in the past spit out 6 jackpots of $3000 in a 4 hour span (4 to one person and one each to 2 others). The casino took it out of commission and started doing inspections on it. The machine is still standing there after it occurred 3 years ago.

paranoid about playing on a machine that paid out bigYep, that's me. I steer clear. Machine that paid a royal I treat as radioactive. On quarter JOB, most machines actually, all you see is the Cash Out total. But Royal is the likely happy event that results in a four figure quarter JOB cash out.

Last night at Green Valley Ranch I caught Aces on DDB with no kicker and gave it back pretty quick. Machine was like ice afterwards. At the same time lady on opposite end caught aces w/kicker, cashed it out and walked. Maybe she's the smart one!! Now that machine was "on my list." Went to that machine about a half hour later, dropped a hundred dollar bill into it, 4 hours later cashed out 1200.00. Caught a spaded royal, caught aces, caught 2s,3s,4s, five times, three of them with kicker. several 5s-kings. Based on my observation while I was playing this machine my machine for tonight is already picked. It is two to the left of where I was playing. Good luck everyone!!
I wanted to add, the royal was my first big hit putting me at 1110.00. I do not cash out until I am done. Went up to 1300.00, back down to 880.00, up to 1400.00, cashed out at 1200.

I caught Aces DDB no kicker and gave it back pretty quick. Machine like ice afterwards. The ultimate nightmare. I played about six hands after a quad and lost $5. That was bad enough. They go ice cold most of the time. You had such a lucky night to be able to rebound from that hell. You may have cashed out earlier at over $1200 if you moved post Royal. Of course, just a guess.

In my opinion the odds are the same on all machines at all times. Past performance is not an indicator of future results. The odds of a dealt royal are 1-650k even the hand after one was just dealt, just as the odds of a coin flip are always 50-50 no matter how many heads have come up in a row.
I once watched my son hit two royals on the same machine with one hand in between. I trust that the random number generators are truly random or I wouldn't play at all.

Exactly. A rare voice of reason on these boards.

I also completely agree with what Pepaw wrote. I haven't hit royals as closely spaced together as Pepaw's son did but I have had several times where I've hit multiple royals on the same machine over the course of several hours. These were on 5/10 play TDB or DW Draw Poker and not DreamCard.
