Actually, the casino trip was after dinner, it is almost a daily thing since Fiesta Henderson is about two minutes from home. Nothing great to speak of, but did end up 200. ahead. The night before Easter was awesome at Green Valley Ranch. Caught two spades on .25 DDB for Royal Flush #147.

Slots and VP in convenience stores are pretty common in areas of Nevada. However, if you win a big jackpot you sometimes have to wait a long time to get paid. The owner of the machine is not always the convenience store itself.

Most of the convenience stores have gotten better on bigger payouts, however there are still the ones that you can wait as much as two hours for the courier from the gaming company to bring the cash. Kind of really sucks if you are in a hurry, or have to get to work. I had one at a Rebel gas station that I could not wait for. Attendant sez come by when you can and it will be here for you. Kind of seemed a little sketchy but worked out fine. Kind of takes the "convenience" out of the convenience store!!

congrats on your hits.......Yes, in Nevada you can find Video Poker and slot machines in the strangest places......convenience stores, supermarket/grocery stores, Shopping malls, etc etc!Back in 2005 I once hit a straight flush in the 7-11 in Downtown just off the Fremont Street experiences (you know, the 7-11 that sits across the street on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Fremont Street.....)    That's one of the few times I deigned to play a machine that was not in a formal casino....but it's typical (and also fun!)   Quite often The machines you find in places like 7-11 and Circle-are still set up (or simply OLD enough) to accept REAL actual COINS!!!!   And it is obvious why....Oftentimes, when  a customer rings up their purchase at the counter  of a 7-11, they are given change,,,,,well it's quite easy (and tempting) to simply plop that loose change into a gaming machine that is sitting right next to, or on the way out of, the store....although admittedly I have not actually been in a Circle-k or 7-11 in Las vegas for several years!

How are the pay tables on the machines, my guess is not so good.

I didn't pay a lot of attention to the pay tables, I was there and I wasn't really concerned. I am pretty sure it was either 8/5 or 9/5.

There were a couple of convenience store pics on here last year. Those were on 8/5 DDB, iirc.

I have seen convenience stores with full pay poker in the past. They dont get advertised very often but they exist.

It seems I remember Dancer posting something about finding a 100% plus machine in a gas station a while back.  Hope he doesn't hit a $400K jackpot.  He'll be there for a while because he will then own a gas station (or two)!

this is actually a GOOD point to remember (as far as Do's  and  Don'ts of playing video poker).....One thing I have on my own Do  and Don't  list is "Never play a game with the potential for a HAndpay when you are waiting for something important", like a flight, or a Bus, or waiting around for Show that  is important or a Big deal, because (obviously) you could end up waiting for a Jackpot Handpay and MISS the aforementioned deal/event/circumstance.....obviously this is all relative, in that, IF the handpay in question amounts to a HUGE amount then who cares if you miss a flight, right?   But you'd HATE to be stuck waiting on a handpay for $1,278 or thereabouts, and miss the flight, and end up spending a lot of that jackpot for a new ticket, or another OVERNIGHT unplanned/unscheduled stay in a Hotel while waiting for the NEXT flight, etc. etc. Also, if a group of people is waiting on you and you decide to get in a few last licks or something, be careful not to get wrapped up in something that could take a long time, because you can inadvertently PO  a lot of people who end up waiting on you while you collect a fat jackpot, or worse, if you rmachine MALFUNCTIONS and you have to sit there and wait.....and wait.....and wait.....just to get your OWN money out of the machine, etc.
