Mr.Dawes, as someone who solely played DDB and even transitioning into Deuces Wild, the only natural straight flush that is relevant is the one that starts with ten and ends with an ace.

The quads will have much more impact on your overall return than the straight flush would. It is 20 times more frequent odds-wise in DDB, pays equal or even more than the straight flush. In DW, it is about 12 times more frequent.

If you play by the strategy charts, it should come out in about 1 in 9000 hands and makes up about half a percent of the overall game return. So you are behind 3 cycles when you should have 4 on average instead of 1. It is very common to be behind 5 or more cycles on any of the poker hands. Lots of people experienced 3000-5000 hand session without a single quad. One of these days you will get two in one night, it happened to myself earlier this year.

So true! Luckily I am ahead with that one. I hit my first Royal about 11,000 hand in. Around 30,000 hands in I hit two in one hour!! However, I do believe it is worth my time to review my play on 3 card straight flush draws. Thanks for the math on the value of the straight flush to overall payback.
