Re: The royal cycle
Never had a dealt royal in many years of playing. My only single hand royals were 1 and 2 card draws. Multihand have been 2,3,4 card draws - around 15 in all.
My buddy playing triple play, one coin per line, hit one drawing 4 - his first time playing.

I've gotten dealt,2,3 and 4. Never on a redraw or holding only one (except online). I'm positive they will come in my lifetime.

The throwaway is one in 649,000. I would keel over.Â
No that is roughly the dealt odds (1 in 649,740). Throwaway is much more difficult, because you have to throw away all your cards first, which you only do about 1 in 30 hands to start with for a JoB game. Then ON TOP OF THAT, you have to recreate a dealt royal from the 47 card stub, which is 1 in 383,484.75 if don't toss a ten, 1 in 511,113 if you do. So a throwaway royal is in the one in 5-15 million range depending on the game played. It's much more likely in deuces because you toss everything a lot more.
As for me,
discard 0, 1, and 2 in a casino.
I know I've done discard 4 in a VP.com contest, I was a bit ticked with that one.

Can finally say I hit the royal cycle. After getting my A$$ kicked for the last 6 weeks for $1800 playing $1.25 to $2.50 bets my bankroll was looking weak at best so stepped back to nickels and hit this after holding just the Jack. Feels good to walk out ahead $500 for the day after dropping $300 to $400 every trip. Good luck to you all chasing the royal!

Congratulations. Impressive photo. Good to claw back at least some of your 2016 bankroll amidst the negative expectation futility of it all.

Between my wife and I, we've hit them in all ways except by holding only the 10 and on a 5 card throwaway.
