Re: Never Changes...Free or Real Money...Neve
I have a small business and pay for my and my employees health care plans. In fairness, our premiums were increasing every year before the ACA was passed, but at a much slower rate than after the ACA. Last year my premium for 2 people, myself and my wife for a downgraded plan went from $1,275 a month to $1,625 a month. An increase of $4,200 a year. Thought I was going to pay $2,500 a year less. But then again, I never believed that to be true.

car, you mention a downdgraded plan, if you do not mind, can you be a little more specific. how much has your potential out of pocket gone up. this is what has bothered many folks. for reasons i cannot understand, the left has absolutely fallen in love with the european model of government, cradle to grave. they disregard the current bleak european economic climate, just look at greece, spain , portugal, france, italy, etc. bloated public employees, crippling pensions. they have endlessly pointed out the success of the nordic countries, while failing to mention those countries have substantial oil reserves. now that those countries are facing falling oil prices, they are also in a financial squeeze. add in the large number of immigrants, increased terrorism threats and things are not looking so good. only countries such as germany, which has moved more to the US capitalistic system is doing well.

We went from a gold plan to a silver plan to keep the premium increase to "only" an additional $350 per month. To stay with the gold plan would have brought the monthly premium to just under $2,000 a month. I know from speaking to family, friends etc. people have no idea how much this costs if you have to pay out of pocket.

thanks. so, if you had stayed with the gold plan, your annual premium would have been about $8700 more per year. you are correct, only when someone has some medical problem and needs to use their insurance, do they actually find out how much out of pocket expense they will incur. healthcare insurance needed to be addressed, the R had not done their job. but, the ACA was sold on the basis of covering everyone, keeping your doctor and each family saving money. that was a big lie. i mentioned once before, we have a friend who has lived in sweeden for over 25 years, single payor system. she is a nurse, states that it is indeed 'free', at a remarkable high tax burden. and, healthcare is rationed, no question about. little has been done to address the true problem, the cost of care.

Welcome to the paying class ...
in my adult life, i have never been anything other than the 'paying class'. happy to do, until those who pay are disparged for simply asking that only those in need be receivers and the money be spent wisely. the system only works when there are more folks pulling the cart, than in the cart. we are on a path where the reverse will be true.

video poker.com is a total FRAUD------------------------------------------------That might be an exaggeration. In any event, you're not in a real casino losing real money. Gratitude, people.

I'm guessing roudydog didn't like being banned from the chat for abusive language. Closing thread.
