What is your session bankroll?

I'm a firm believer that life is one big session but I'm still working out what my daily bankroll should be.
Right now it's $300 for minor days and $1000 for major events like 2x points days.
I'm giving serious thought to cutting those limits in half.Funny how, several years back, when I posed this same question (more or less) I was told by a selective few to essentially STFU because it was none of my business and "tacky" to even ask.......meh, times change I guess.Anyhoo, I have no problem with the question......My rule of thumb simply is this:   for pure video Poker sessions these days (primarily in AC) I allow about 400 bucks for the day to be played (or "lost).....if I am staying for 5-6 days, which is my typical stay these days, I will allot about 2 grand total for VP, a little more if there is some really good promo like 5 or 7 times comps at TAJ or 3x RCs at CET properties.       Note this is about HALF of what I used to allot back in 2010 thur 2013 when I played in AC.     Abysmal results caused me to cut back by at least 50%.      When I play real LIVE poker during my AC stays, which typically means on a 5 day stretch in AC I play live poker for 3 of those 5 days, my Video poker allotment is curtailed by about 100 bucks a day (at least) to augment the poker bankroll of 500 to 700 bucks I bring, usually.   That means my POKER bank roll is typically at least 1000, and this applies to tournaments at Borgata (which usually have a minimum buy in of at least 110-120 bucks or more) and about 500-600 bucks minimum for cash play, usually 1-2 dollar blinds, sometimes 2-5 dollar blinds if I am feeling good about the tables. When I go to Vegas, I allot considerably MORE, which is all I will say about that!

I read an article once that for a weekend trip you should take the equivalent of a royal flush and that's what I normally do but when you go an entire day and night without a single four of a kind the ATM card normally is used because I'm not going to stop playing. What else is there to do in Vegas?

There are 2 casinos with "good" games local to me. One has great paytables, the other has mediocre paytables attached to good progressives which often go past 100% ($1 DDB).

I go to whichever casino sends me better mailers. For the first one $400. The other casino I like to have $800, maybe $1000 if the progressives are juicy enough. Usually a session is one to two hours.

Lately it has been going so bad I am forced to quit for a while.

You change with the times. When good games existed in AC, back before the great recession, my bankroll and session stakes were 2 to 3 times larger than they are today. Finished positive in all but 2 years back then.

Sometimes it's how you ask, and who is asking
I offered this up as asking if I was going about my BR. properly.
You repeatedly make a point of telling us you don't care about our opinions and that we can pound sand for all you care. That's not an attitude that makes one go out of the way for you, is it?

"US" (who exactly is 'us' in your estimation?) ... that I do not 'care' about their opinions  and that I REPEATEDLY tell everyone to go "pound sand"!      I said that ONE time in a very specific RECENT post but it is not something I say often otherwise!!   C'mon man, be fair.......I will agree with your very VERY general point in that if.....IF a person were to manifest a perpetually unjustified hostile attitude, then yes people would be very unlikely to  "Go out of their way" (your words)  for someone.        However, I do not grasp the application to the situation at hand........Aside from all that.......Good POST!

Interesting comments about Progressives. I really need to cool my jets. Just because I see the RF number going up doesn't mean my betting must continue more than normal. I cannot be swayed unless the JOB hits $1,100. That's still about 0.25% from the magical 100%. But it would grab my interest. Otherwise, I need to get my ass out of there and enjoy the good life at Borgata again.

FAA, you ever try the .25 Double Joker progressives at Caesars? They reset the royal at 2k. More volatility than the JOB progressives, but higher EV.

No. Never studied DJ. If I was a true Prog nut, I'd be a WOF junkie by now. Always around $2.2M!
