Crap! I compiled an update, and when I tried to post it here, the screen went blank. I think the problem was with our laptop, or Harrah's wifi. Anyways, it's gone. I might try again later.

Bummer. Sorry to hear, I know how long these reports take myself.
I know it can happen so what I do is.
I open a word processing app like Wordpad for Windows, I type out the content there. I copy and paste to the forum. Not sure if it will help other people.

OK, I will try this again - though it might be a mistake considering the half bottle or wine I had at dinner.
Saturday night, my wife broke out of her slump with a $600 win on the 50 line 5c deuces wild bonus game. I was up $50 for that session.
Sunday morning, again on the 50 play, saw me up $400, the highlights being another royal, and, even better, a dealt wild royal. Unfortunately, my wife returned to her losing ways and was down a few hundred.
We went to the Aquarius for the afternoon. We started out there playing triple line 25c 8/5 bonus poker on All Star machines in the high limit room. The session became the closest to the dreaded "double ugly" on the trip to date, my wife dropping $300, and me chipping in with a $200 loss. We moved to the optimum play machines, where I broke even on 25c NSU deuces, and she lost $50 on a combination of 10/7 double bonus and NSU deuces.
We returned to Harrah's that evening, where my wife had her best session to date, a $800 win on the 50 play machines. But, I was sitting beside her, losing $700 at the same time. I finally moved from there and ended my day with a $150 win on triple and ten play 25c deuces wild that took some of the sting out of that -$700 debacle.
Monday, we started out like gangbusters on the 50 plays. Within the first few minutes, my wife had hit both a royal and four deuces, and I had been dealt five 5s and a straight flush. Despite the great start, she went steadily downhill from there, and ended up $600 down. I managed to hang on for a $500 win, which included yet another royal.
Then, we were off again to Aquarius. Playing triple line 25c bonus again, my wife was having a truly bizarre session. In 2000-3000 hands, she had hit four or five straight flushes, but was just barely ahead, since the rest of the session was so bad. Then, tada, she was dealt a $3000 royal flush! I also had a $1000 royal for the session, so dinner in their very nice Italian restaurant was especially good.
We returned to Harrah's for the evening, where i had another win ($550) on the 50 plays. I am not sure how her session went that evening - I think she was about even.
An indication of how bad her trip to date had been is that after Tuesday, with that monster hit, she was still down about $300 for the trip. I have to confess that she handles these inevitable dry spells a lot better than do I.
So, wouldn't you know it, today, when we planned to play a lot at Harrah's since there was a promotion giving triple reward credits to seniors, the 50 plays turned really stingy. I dropped a total of $1000 in two sessions on them, despite having a royal in each session. My wife did not do quite as bad, but nevertheless, lost $600-$700.
Fortunately, the multiline 25c deuces wild machines treated us a whole lot better. On the day, I had a royal, and three sets of deuces, for a net win on them of $700. Playing five play, my wife had yet another great dealt hand, this time the four deuces for a $1250 payout. She had another very positive session on these machines, where she had two sets of deuces and finished ahead $700. Overall for the day, she came out plus $1500, while I was down $300
We have two more days here in Laughlin before returning to Vegas on Friday for four nights at Main Street Station, and flying back to Buffalo on Tuesday.
We are both now in the black. If we can come even close to staying even for the balance of the trip, we will be ecstatic.

Another outstanding update recounting your trip in very good detail. Thanks for providing another update. You and your wife are certainly catching up on the royals this trip, but if you guys are barely up, it must be a really bad start to the trip.
Hopefully do you not mind me asking about the Aquarius.
Was Bonus Poker played over the other games they have available because of multi-line availability or was it strictly due to maximizing ADT for future mailer offers from ace|Play? I noticed the Optimum Play games are for quarters only, single line, and have higher coin in comp requirements.
Sounds like it is your first trip to the Aquarius based on an earlier post on this thread. I still cannot find any information about out how much coin-in is required for a tier point on ace|Play.

Actually, we have been to the Aquarius many , many times. Up until this current trip, we had pretty much restricted our play to single line 25c on the optimum machines, the 9/6 JOB machines in the non smoking area near the main entrance, and at the bar tops at the Cove bar.
On a previous trip, I had seen the All Star machines in the high limit area while on a casino wander, and we decided to try them this trip. There was no motivation other than a liking for multi line play.
I, too, have had little success in trying to figure out their slot play reward system. Asking staff at the players' club how much coin-in is needed to earn a point at video poker usually produces a response of "it depends which machine you're playing". I think that the machines we played at in the high limit room were $4 per point.
I don't know the value of that point, nor do I have any clue as to the relationship between those points and the points that determine tier status there. I don't worry too much about it, since it is not a major play for us.
Usually, we play there for two to four hours in the afternoon, have dinner, and reduce our out of pocket cost by whatever comp balance we have.

I think I might have a few more years behind me than you have.

Well, the idea of "staying close to even for the balance of the trip" isn't working out very well. Yesterday was not a good day for us, and this morning was just as bad.
We started yesterday in a different way - we went for a drive. Despite the number of times we had been to Laughlin, we had not been away from the casino strip. Since we had a car this time, we drove to the commercial/residential area to see what it's like. There is not really very much commercial at all. The residential area we drove through was very, very nice. Everything looked upscale and extremely well maintained.
We drove a few miles to the south to the Avi casino resort. We had seen promotional material on it, and thought we would check it out. With the exception of a few $2 and $5 single line machines in the high limit area, it is a VP wasteland. The best game on those ones is 98.91% deuces wild.
Avi is quite close to that spot where, theoretically, you could stand in Nevada, stretch your arms out, and have one hand in Arizona, and the other in California. But, you would have to stand in the middle of the Colorado River.
Back to the poor day yesterday. The 50 plays produced an even session and a $400 loss for me, and the multi-line deuces added another $250 to the loss column, despite hitting the four deuces. My wife was also down for the day, about $500.
Today, so far, has been even worse. The 50 play produced a $350 loss on only just under $2000 of play. Multiline deuces was a bit better, but not much, with a $400 loss on play of around $4000. And, to make matters worse, my wife is doing just as bad.
Due to last week's great results, I am still comfortably ahead. Despite these recent poor results my wife is still slightly ahead.
Harrah's itself is having an even worse day. This morning, a sewer line located in close proximity to a water supply line ruptured. While there is no direct evidence of contamination of the water supply, all water in the casino and hotel has been shut off, pending confirmation from health officials that the water supply is OK.
There are no public washrooms open. They will, of all things, shuttle people who just "have to go" to the nearest operating facility. And, reportedly, the were bringing in some portapotties.
This also means that all the restaurants are closed. If things aren't back to normal very soon, we will have to forgo our traditional last day dinner in the Range Steakhouse for something somewhere else.
As I have said earlier, we are driving back to Vegas tomorrow for a four night stay at Main Street Station. Unless things have changed there, there will be no free wifi in the rooms, so I won't be posting anything more on the trip until after we return home.
Hopefully, we can reverse the recent trend in our VP fortunes for the balance of our Harrah's stay, Main Street Station, and the day we will play at Seneca Niagara on our return.
