Re: Amazing
I think I'll stick to going virtually broke here.

I was in Bally's AC high limit room. Guy playing TDB hit a quad 5-Ks, which triggers a $1,250 hand pay. While waiting for the paperwork, he takes the adjacent machine. I would just enjoy the moment, but it's not my $25 a hand. I walked past and had a seat about ten yards away. About five minutes later I notice two attendants crossing paths, one towards him and the other departing. One said to the other, "twenty thousand." I was sure she was mistaken, as the hit was $1,250. I arrive and see that he has now hit a $20,000 Royal Flush! This exceeds the Caesars $17,000 slot hit as the largest jackpot I have personally seen. I said, "Congratulations!" He barely nodded at me. Quite an even keeled gentleman. I'd be using the back of the seat as a pogo stick. Â
I see $20K royals pretty often, the guy is probably used to dropping some big bucks to pay for that hit.

First I've seen. But I only loiter in high limit rooms for a break. Pay tables are always the worst on the property!

For me the more I have played through the years I really don't get too excited anymore either. Just knowing todays win will most likely be the next months losses. I always hope for the best but was on a 2 year losing streak pretty much, wins just were not happening very often. It has changed recently and last Sunday hit 2 royals (dollars at Harrah's Joliet) on the same machine 5 hands apart. I think the guy next to me was more excited than I was. Being able to handle the swings in this game is what keeps me playing.

Honestly, if I hit a 10K or 20K I am sitting there figuring my cash position and my tax situation before the attendant shows up so I will be all ready with my "order." If someone near me wants to high five or say congrats, the reason I am not excited or responding is because I am figuring my positions in my head.

FAA,
Its all relative to your income. We have 3 regulars who play $125/hand 100 hand 25¢ VP and about three months ago Sweet C and I watched a high roller play 100 play $1 or $500/hand VP. Dealt flushes, full houses, were hand pays.
But, perhaps the most amazing story was watching the guy play $90/Spin poker. After hitting a hand pay he moved to the adjacent machine and hit another hand pay hitting a Royal. i congratulated him on his hits. His response was that he was down $16K before his hand pays but he then stated he had been dealt a Quad Jacks/wAce on SDDB for $72K.

Congrats on the surprising turnaround! Triple Double Bonus is not for the weak of heart, that's for sure!

Congratulations. Two RFs within 5 hands! That blows my theory out of the water. I'd be cashed out and prepping my ID for the cage check after the first.

Thanks. Definitely a first for me. They just filled out the paperwork on the first one and then watched me play a hand then walked away. Then they were walking right back saying they don't believe it. Both in spades needed 2 cards on both draws. Crazy stuff happens and I love when it does!
