Good going! I had the same thing happen, called them over immediately, they checked the last hand but they said they couldn't see where I held the card. They watched me play, saw the issue & shut down the machine. No buffet - no nothing.

That was pretty much what they told me at first but I pressed the issue because I was certain I had held the 10/clubs in the 3 spot. The tech could see the hand but they said chances were you just thought you held the card because people make mistakes like that all the time. I told them all there was zero doubt in my mind I held the card and it said the card was held. It took several hands to reveal the machine malfunction because the button kept working properly. Just when they were about to give up it happened, I held the card in the 3 spot, the machine indicated the card was held but when I pushed the deal button it disappeared. I pointed at it and ask the tech if he just saw that and he said I sure did just don't understand how it happened. The tech played the machine for a while himself and recreated the situation more than once, so the machine was closed down. I'm pretty certain they went to the cameras to see if they could tell if I did indeed hold the 10/clubs because they were gone for several minutes. I told the casino manager who offered me 4K in free play that that was a pretty fair offer considering the situation and I would accept that in a second had I not been certain I had held the card. He agreed that I did hold the card and said "pay the man" I shook his hand and told him to take comfort in the fact that he had done the right thing.

Don't know if anyone will remember nut I had an issue with another machine a while back. The casino probably has around 100 different vp machines, all of them were pretty much the same except for 2 old game kings. I like to play DDB, which gets about 90% of my play, the other 10% is TDB. While you were playing the game would switch from DDB to Job. I happened to hit quad aces w/k but the machine had switched to JOB without me knowing it. The casino would not pay me. I went back a little while later and discovered that it only happened on those 2 old machines. I brought it to the casinos attention and they acknowledge the problem and gave me $500 worth of free play. The next time I went back both of those machines were gone.

Congratulations on both wins. Outrageous to plead your case due to such old two bit machines they insist on keeping "operational." Nothing more despicable than the old Held/Unheld routine. It makes my blood boil.

Wow, that is really weird. Was the button sorta "sticky"? I'm glad the scenario reappeared for them, so they realized you did hold the card as best you could.

I am glad to hear that a reasonable percentage of these stories have a "happy ending". Depending on how often you play there, not paying you may actually cost them more in the long run.

Believe it or not the button wasn't sticky, if fact none of the buttons on that machine was stick. You know how it is when you try to play bar top vp machines, I searched the machines to find one that the buttons seemed to be working properly. The best the tech could describe the situation was "that's odd, the buttons not sticking and it works most of the time but every once in while the card in the 3 spot just disappears when you hit the deal button. Either way, what's the chances of it happening on a royal flush, I guess pretty good. I hadn't played in that casino in probably 6 months, it's not that I don't like the place, it's the cigar smoke.

Yeah, it sucks. On Saturday playing next to a guy smoking a cigar next to his wife so all the smoke was going my way instead, I thought to myself that the machine should give me something good for dealing with this, right? Wrong.
