I think the fact that I don't really get it and don't understand how the multipliers work even after having played a handful of the weekly contest doesn't bode well; I would think that a new game variation should be more or less intuitive without having to read through multiple pages of help. Just sayin'.

On the original game, if I was dealt a straight, the next hand would be total junk...On the new game, I get dealt a straight, and the next 3 hands are total junk!

I got it once I read the help. Mainly needed the help for the exploding 12x appearances. I am curious about strategy, but I'm guessing it is similar to standard ultimate X.

Didn't like this game at all. Never got enough good hands to see any decent payouts. Would not play this in a casino

That's sort of like what happened to me last night. I had a 12 multiplier on every hand ( I think because i had a dealt trip while there were active multipliers on all the hands).

I was dealt a pair of sevens, and managed to score 10x0x12, for a big fat nothing!

Maybe I'm missing something here. The help says that if you're on a streak, and get a hand that itself would initiate a streak, all remaining multipliers in the streak go to 12 (and, you get the explosion). But, it doesn't seem to happen all the time. I have definitely seen occurrences where, while on a streak a "streak hand" is hit and nothing happens.

Am I reading it wrongly?

I just played three sessions, and paid a lot more attention to keeping track of which hands were eligible for an "explosion". In all cases, the game functioned as advertised.

I was getting fooled by hands that were on their last multiplier and hit a "streak" hand.

Yeah, that just creates a new streak.

Getting a full house that just creates one 12X is frustrating, I would rather get 2, 3, 4, 8, 12X instead.

My two cents on this game:

I think it plays closer to multistrike where you prioritize the bonus over getting the most optimal hand. In MultiStrike, you go for the hold that yields the highest chance at a paying hand since that it is what is required to reach the next level. For this game, there is an urgency to enable the streaks.

The player is wagering double to playing this game, thus the hold should be based on the best chances to get three of a kind or better. It will require much analyzing of each dealt hand to see which of the 32 possible holds can give the best chance at a streak.

If a streak is enabled on one of the hands, it should be more imperative to enable the 12x.

Having just one 12x available surpasses the average wager a player puts in.

10 Play 1 (12x) + 9 (1x) = 21x = Average 2.1x
5 Play 1 (12x) + 4 (1x) = 15x = Average 3x
3 Play 1 (12x) + 2 (1x) = 13x = Average 4.3x

The Wizard of Odds has one of the best known approaches to playing Ultimate X, though it may not be the most optimal
For each poker hand, determine: (adjusted win) = 2×(base win) + (multiplier) - 1 for each hand. For example, if the base win for a full house is 8 and the multiplier, then the adjusted win is 2 × 8 + 12 - 1 = 27.
For this game, the 3 of a kind and above hands need to have an adjusted win factor cranked up higher since it provides more. When a streak is available, it will be even higher.

The key is to find an arbitrary formula for this game.

From personal experiences, these analysis of video poker games are extremely time consuming, I'd like to see someone try.

I'll give it a shot.
