Re: First royal
Congrats. You will find SDB more exciting, but a lot more volatile. The best game available at the Borgata with the exception of the 99.75% JOB multi-strikes. After 2 small losing trips to the Borg, was down yesterday with my business partner and we played .50 SDB at adjacent machines. About a 2Hr. session. I broke dead even, he hit 3's 4's (Both dealt), Kings, Jacks and a few other generic Quads. Won $1,000. Since we were splitting our wins/losses, worked out good for me. He is an engineer, like myself and picked up basic strategy quickly. Bob's software will guide you.
Thanks for the taking the time for the reply Bob. I do see the payout chart of wizard of odds for SDB, but not an strategy chart. Sounds like you're in the right place. Just go to the bottom of the chart and you'll see a button that says "continue." That will do it.
Here's the page I'm launching from. Struggling to find what I'm looking for still lol

This is the page you should be looking at

Borgata has 9/5 Super Double Bonus so I based it off of that.

I played for about 5 hours Sunday and 7 total hours Monday all on
the same $100. After hitting the royal I put $100 back in and cashed
out $328 resulting in $1228 total in the black.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Excellent $102 hourly wage! Even without the RF, $19 hourly for .25 JOB is quite good. I experienced a $50 hourly loss on .25 JOB there, trying two machines. Out of frustration, I migrated to the dollar machines and lost even more. I know what to avoid next time. Bar was certainly in a generous mood those days. What you describe is frankly almost beyond comprehension to me. I am shocked. I did see a $1,250 winner there, but on the dollar side.

It certainly was a good day even prior to the royal. If I can come close to breaking even on my trips I consider that a huge victory for my entertainment. My royal was the only .25 one, the others hit at $1. It certainly was the craziest thing to have 3 in such a short amount of time though. Sometimes that 0.000025 probability comes around in bunches I suppose haha. Here's to hoping the next one is yours!

<p ="Msonormal">The SDB strategy is considerably more difficult than 9/6 JoB
because the flush pays LESS --- not more. Games where flushes return 5-for-1
are trickier than games where flushes return 6-for-1.(Games where flushes return 7-for-1 are trickier still).
SDB is definitely more difficult than JoB, but it is because of the 5 for 1 flush payout?
I always figured 5 for 1 payout games were typically more straightforward because this typically applies to non-wild games.
High Pair > 3 to a Royal > 4 to a flush. Also you never hold 3 to a flush in a 5 for 1 game.
When you have 6 for 1 flushes and two pair is 1 for 1, this is often the case.
3 to royal without Ace and Ten > 4 to flush > 3 to royal with Ace and Ten.
Congrats on your first royal Soccercw! Also note you wouldn't hold that if you were playing Super Double Bonus!

Thanks so much. And you are absolutely right. I had just switched back to JOB 4-5 hands before hitting that. A blessing of coincidental timing for sure.
*edit* now that I look it over, it's very possible I'd have held k-10 suited via sdb, though that's just in my head without looking at the chart (which I've yet to learn yet)

I think to people who really care about the nook and crannies of the penalty situations like Mr. Dancer does, it might be harder. I've heard your opinion about this many times before.
Three situations I can think of
1. King-Ten suited with a Flush Penalty
2. Even for 2 for 1 Two Pairs, the King-Jack off suit vs Jack-Ten suited when there is a flush penalty. In addition you have to watch out for a 8 or 9 present.
3. By far the most pointless, Jack high card over 3 to a Straight Flush with a single card gap if the last card is adjacent to the straight flush or not.
For this, I find it tough for myself to remember to get the full 99.166% return on full pay Bonus Poker. I might get at least 99.16% knowing a few adjustments over the Jacks or Better strategy.
