How much to adopt me? Take pity on a poor orphan far from home.Good fortune favors those who are well prepared.Earlier this year, Bill, you attended perhaps half of my free classes. The past semester, you attended none of them --- even though there were several you hadn't had before and the ones you attended, probably you didn't score 100% on the tests at the end of the class. The people I "adopt", figuratively, include those who are actively trying to improve by studying really hard. From my limited observation of you, you do not fit that category.

Hey Bill, I understood you were being humorous and your remark made me smile. I consider Dancer's answer to you needlessly condescending and not worth taking seriously. So you have at least one person in your corner.

Damn Bob...
billryan is like your biggest defender on this forum.
I will be interested to see how he responds to your painfully blunt comment.

I did not intend to be condescending. I intended to provide guidance to anybody who wishes good fortune in video poker. It takes hard work --- a lot of it. Hard work is something most people can accomplish. Wishing for a sugar daddy, even in jest, is not something most people can be successful at.I am not mad at or feuding with Bill. He's one of the few posters on this site I can put a face to. I wish him well. If he's offended, I hope he lets me know. i will publicly apologize here should that be the case.

Bob,
You can be very curt in your replies. Your most recent column being an example.
Last semester, I attended more than half of your classes, the ones I missed were classes for games I'm not planning on playing.
This semester, I was unable to attend as I'm taking much needed computer classes through the AARP Foundation, as well as scouting auctions and estate sales.
I probably am working harder in my retirement than I did when I lived in NYC. The harder I work, the luckier I get. I'm not spending as much time in casinos as I found better uses of my time.
Just for the record, I don't defend anyone because I feel they need it. I do it because I dont suffer fools or liars.
No apology needed.

By the way, Bob, one of my College fraternity brothers is moving here after retiring from DC. He and his wife are huge square dance enthusiasts. I'm hoping you might give him the lay of the land .
