jstark if u have royal cards in your hand u would not be dumping all 5 cards to get a possible rebound royal except a lone ten right?? so when throwing all 5 cards away u r drawing to a slightly richer royal deck as it were.

A couple of thoughts on the dealt versus redrawn royal thing.

Even though the likelihood of hitting a redraw royal is usually (but not always) better than that of initially being dealt a royal, you are unlikely to hit more of them overall. Obviously, this is because you don't have a five card redraw anywhere close to as often as you have a new deal.

As for my "but not always" comment, in deuces wild games, unsuited high cards are normally discarded. In the extreme, three unsuited high cards would be discarded and unavailable, meaning only one royal could come on the redraw - making the odds against pretty formidable.

I've never hit a dealt or redrawn royal. I've never hit a royal holding one card either, but since most of my play is on deuces wild, I don't imagine that'll happen anytime soon.

And strangely enough on DDB I've hit AWAK both dealt and redrawn, but I've never hit 2,3,4 WAK either dealt or redrawn.

But my bucket list is also like OP - to get a handpay - but since like 99% of my play is single line quarters I doubt that'll ever happen.
