Re: Long Term vs. Short Term
Both statements are true ... and this is a case when both arguments are combined, the composite statement is even "truer."

This is an interesting thread. Not just the VP subject matter that is discussed, but also the fact that so many of the posters on this thread don't seem to be regulars on this forum any longer. Did they die, go bankrupt, or just lose interest in VP? I wonder.....

Several of the thread participants are still active here.
Phil departed to the Facebook group. Bill is a regular at Wizard of Vegas. At some point, I think he moved to a locale with reduced access to casinos.
We seem to have lost both "advantage playe" and Carcounter. They're APs, so I doubt they busted out. They may be doing other stuff now than vp.

I think AP is OK. I see him at Bizarro, but usually don’t bother him when he’s into his game. Winning with the poorer pay tables and reduced incentives has become extremely difficult in Ct. I have been keeping track. If I can ever learn to hit and run I will still do fine. I can do it with stocks, but trouble doing it with VP
I should start another thread and post max up amount for the session before it disappears.

Actually, from reviewing the thread, most of the participants (including myself) are still here, either posting or monitoring the forum. Phil was banned from posting a few years ago (Webman can explain) and eventually joined the FB group. Not sure why Billy hasn't been around since November. FYI, if you click on any poster's name, it will tell you the most recent time they visited the forum whether or not they posted.felix wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 2:19 pmThis is an interesting thread. BR's tag line there: "The older I get, the better I recall things that never happened."

Getting back on Topic, as I originally posted in 2017 and reposted 6 years ago in this thread, the Long Run is not Guaranteed. That is especially true for those of us up in years.
