Although I have never heard of anyone doing this, if a player could find an exploit in the "old drawing mechanism" (i.e. draw cards selected immediately along with the deal cards), then if they knew what those draw cards are supposed to be, then they could possibly play the game with a positive advantage because they know certain non-standard holds would yield winning hands because of the known draw cards coming.

I seriously doubt anyone actually bothered to pull this off though. But this would be a good reason from the casino's standpoint to switch to the continuously cycling RNG.good point, I am sure it would actually have happened eventually, if you think about it, it certainly seems possible. But I was not actually thinking of this, I was just thinking from a speed perspective....I found my hands and fingers moving much faster than the stupid machine when I played DDB on the Ballys games......

probably not worth my time here commenting on some of the recent post regarding the subject issue of vp having changed. will not repeat myself---but i have posted on this issue before at this site. you guys can talk to each other until you are blue in the face about your various anecdotal stories that prove your points one way or another----and by the way---- shut up about the casinos lowering the pay tables----yes this is bad for us vp players---- but this is an open and clear action that we and the casinos can understand-----and is at least above board. the changes to how the vp machines are programed and seeded are different matters----- and a very clandestine issue.   the chip's programming has changed in major and important ways----it is fairly technical and sophisticted thing to explaine to almost anyone on this forum----i have tried to explain these changes on past post---- it was very clear that most of you had no clue as to what i was saying----lets just say that many of the people who have strong statistical and programming backrounds and who have an interest in vp are absolutely convinced that vp programming has changed to the detriment of the player and to the advantage of the casinos.

Changed "to the advantage of the casino" in terms of helping ensure that the dealing of cards has no discernible pattern - absolutely. Beyond that, I have yet to see evidence that there is any tampering with final hands with regard to payouts.

firstly, you will probably never "see evidence" of what has happened to video poker-----these folks who run casinos and the igt programmers who develop these very sophisticaed algorithms arn't fools. they fully understand what is at stake.
secondly----you are in part correct that the newer programs are much better at minimizing the "hot" and "cold" segments of the algorithm's number steam----i.e., producing a greater short term degree of randomess. but there is much more to the changes than this element-----these changes primarily relate to the seeding protocols.

well, i said to myself i wasn't going to be sucked back into this debate on vp. it truly would be fruitless----people and going to believe what they want to believe no matter the merits of the logic. but remember---if you are waiting for some definitive, empirical proof positive of what igt/casinos have done-----well, good luck with that one partner.
