Apparently. However, once you have it, expect offers of flights, some free and some higher than SPIRIT airlines, free rooms, events, etc. to stuff your mail box. These include Reno, Tunica, AC, Windsor,Laughlin and Vegas. Diamond lounge mini buffet had variety of snacks, veggies, fruit, chicken, chips, dips and open bar 4-6:00 at Paris. So we only tried it once because we did not know about it sooner, and also had other plans. We plan to hit more in AC VERY SOON! We are enjoying the ride while it lasts. The Harrahs diamond card has been written up loosely as a masterful way to lure in the low roller, from their persistent polls of players cards and catch us coming and going, or similar wording.

Interesting...all this talk about Harrah'$.  They are one of the front runners in the bidding for contracts to build a casino in south central Kansas.  I am truly afraid that they will get that contract   I'm not even sure who is left in the running.  I know the Binion's group is.  I think MGM/Mirage is also.

Personally, I like Harrah's for the most part. It does take a lot of play to get diamond and it's true as mentioned they did up the diamond requirement to 11,000 from 10,000.
Comps are good for rooms and food.
TR Credits aren't that good, but a few weeks ago I cashed in 50,000 for airfare to Tahoe.  Used to be 30,000 for free airfare but with the airlines hurting so bad I got more than 1-1 in $ terms. Airlines are all upping their flyer miles as well.

Speaking of airlines:I wish I'd bought stock in Allegiant Airlines.  They have only two primary though they have added a few to Phoenix and Tampa and Fort Lauderdale destinations:  Las Vegas and Orlando.  They have stripped flights to the bone.  You want a glass of water?  $1.50.  Soda?  $2.50.  Pillow?  $8.00.  Everything, including checking bags ($20) comes at an addon cost.  They do provide seats and seatbelts as part of the non-addon service and passengers do not have to refuel the plane nor fly it!But while other airlines are cutting flights and laying off workers, Allegiant had a 33% increase in stock this last quarter!  They have a lot of business booking Highroller Charter Flights for Harrah's.

We just started going to the Indian casinos in SoCal. Harrah's and Barona offer free bus rides from OC with 5 hrs. in casino.  We' have been going for about 3 months, a couple times a month.  I'm looking into LV for a few days in Sept. and I can get 3 comp nites at Rio, courtesy of Harrah's Rewards.  Nice deal, I think.  I don't like the 7/5 JoB games, which is all they offer, but have hit a royal recently.  So I have to weigh the rapid comps vs. the tighter games.  I'm looking forward to Vegas and seeking out better odds.

You won't find better games at the Rio unless you're willing to play $5 denoms. However, you are right next door to the Gold Coast and a block away from the Palms. Both places have much better games.

Have fun.
