I'm seriously sorry that the host couldn't help you out on that promo. Sounds to me like that many offers and that limited number of available rooms is a sure way to really hack off a lot of their better clientele.Way out of my league.Someone earlier said they were just the salt on the salad and someone else said that they were merely the steam off the bowl. Good lord, at the stakes this thread was talking about, I must the be empty glass on the next table!

well, although $3,000 does seem like a good offer, if you are going to lose thousands of dollars on the trip to get the offer, it doesn't seem that good.
wow, $1,100 a hand! i always wonder where these people get this money. it's hard for me to bet anything more than $150 a hand and even that kind of bet is rare for me. i'm more comfortable in the $25-$75 hand range.
when i was in vegas in june, this asian lady (maybe in her 30's) was down probably $10,000 and she just kept taking out a white envelope in her purse with wads of $100 bills. must be nice!
Decent job around 6 figures, but mostly an inheritence. On that trip though, he went and got cash off his credit card. Something I would never do. He even said he's getting worried that he did that...though it paid off that time. He's slowed down since!
I'm even lower on the betting scale, avg $20-25, if on a roll and big winnings I'll up it to $50. Had a great run on it last night winning $900 and most of it was on the side bet. It's 21+3, the first bet is regular blackjack and the side bet is your 2 cards and the dealers up card are a 3 card straight, flush or 3 of a kind - it pays 9-1. Me and the girl next to me were hitting it a lot and most times I had $10 there so each hit was $90. Good thing because my blackjack hands weren't that good!

well, i've done the credit card thing too many times before. last time in vegas, it didn't pay off but the time before it took me until 930 am the day i was leaving but i made all my money back but $150. but at the indian casino last month, i used my c/c for an advance and thank god i did b/c it was with that money that i won the $10,000 on the vp machine.
what casino where you playing 21 at that offers that side bet ? (was it in vegas?) i've never heard of that side bet before. the only one i've heard of it the one where if you first 2 cards equal 20, you get paid according to a certain posted schedule they have. it seems like in that long run, that is a pretty bad bed. the casino does not offer those side bets to help the players out. but i'm glad it worked out for you!

when are you going to Vegas Marie? and what hotels are you staying at this time?? Mid Nov and comped Venetian-Palazzo for two nights. Probably at a Harrah's property for the rest of the week. I'm checking incoming mail for best hotel comps. I'm all set with info from BigSteve's Vegas in Sept topic and MFP's anniversary trip posts. SM seems to know the better places to play so I will try some of those properties this time besides Palms.

the casino does not offer those side bets to help the players out. but i'm glad it worked out for you! Vidopoker; most gaming experts and analysts would agree that side bets equate sucker bets despite beau coup payout amounts. Look at basic bets and strategies and factor in a side bet times number of hands per session. It won't work out in the players favor. Again, luck is always a key factor. Ask MikeA for advice on this side bet.

marie... i'm going to vegas in mid-november as well. (going Friday-Monday, november 14- 17th). hope lady luck is on your side.
As I give almost all of my play to Boyd Gaming, rarely get any other free room offers. (i don't even have another other hotel's players club cards). An occasional offer from Wynn. the one i am redeeming that weekend is 3 free nights comped, all meals comped, massage comped and $250 macy's gift card.
if you have a car, you can trek up to the Fiesta Rancho. Although owned by Station Casions, they use their own "Amigo" players club card. They have TONS of video poker, and, according to their website:
Fiesta was voted "Best Video Poker" again in the 2007 RJ Readers Poll!
Over 1,350 video poker & slots machines
100% payback video poker machines.
They apparently also have quick quads. There is a picture of it on the site.

A few Station properties have QQ's and a select few throughout Clark County. As you and Marie are leaving, we'll be coming in behind you to grab the few A's with kickers you left behind. I don't like groveling but in this case, I'll make an exception.

Well, depending on how well the trip goes, i *might* consider leaving a few A's with kickers for you. Early xmas gift!
