Re: Be careful at your BANK
Thanks to mightwin for bringing up a topic of interest to many of us and for your comments that followed! There is SO much info on the net re: How to Detect Counterfeit Money and Markers to detect counterfeit money. Wikihow and US govt for two.Illustrations are given showing real and fake differences.US Secret Service Agency, that investigates counterfeit $, claims cash counting machines that banks use can usually detect counterfeit bills before they wind up in the ATM. Two prices listed for markers: $3.97 and 6.24. (Dri Mark and Penn)Utube lists home made black light as how to detect counterfeit money. Some individuals who claimed counterfeit bills came from ATM machine did not get far in their claims.Gov't. states the individual holding the counterfeit money is out that money and Gov't. does not replace it.There's much more time consuming info and I chose to move on before finding all the answers I was seeking.

Thanks Marie.
It's just one more thing to worry about in today's world. The casinos here in NM are indian casinos. The change/cashier people check every bill $20 and up - coming in and going out.
I could have understood getting the bill at Circle K or Walmart - but not a bank.

Due to my profession, I happen to be a currency expert. Please send me all of your bills and I will verify their validity. Just ask for my address through private message. There is no need to thank me, I like to help people, it is what I do.

Aww ... Thank you for sharing this bad experience with us. It made me being much more careful concerning bank matters. I hope you have left this bank and also told them why and maybe also told them that you warned your family and your friends of this bank because this is just a big impudence.

Just remember, folks, for those of you that put "Benjamins" into VP machines, the bill receptors at most casinos will REJECT any 2006 $100 bill, even if it is legitimate. This is casued by a change they made to all bill receptors when they changed the design on the C-Note. Apparently, however they made $100s in 2006 was a little different from other years, and the bill receptors will reject them. Most casinos know this, so if one gets kicked out on you, check the date. If it is 2006, they shouldn't give you a hassle about changing it. Supposedly, there is a fix available, but the casinos have to install it on all bill receptors on all machines, so it has been slow to be implemented.
