Why do you play the daily/monthly contest

I rarely play the contests and frankly don't give a rat's behind who wins.  I play this site for the challenges and more importantly for the chat and friends that I have made. I have met many good peeps and formed great friendships on here.  Thanks hankers for the football contest. Dakota

Not being a real competitive person, I dont care if I win or not, if I do yay!!, if I dont, who cares? Something to do, and like to chat with all the friends Ive made on here. I truly care for you Edog, but you need to relax a little, worry less and enjoy life a little more! After all, it's only a game.... I worry more about my peeps on here than playing vp. It's worth $8.95 a month, just to practice and talk with my friends. If I win it would be just the icing on the cake! Only 2,400,00 more pts to get my free trip, lol!!!!  Pugs Rule!! i play because there is always a chance that i could some day win a contest.all it takes is 1 good hand.OR more specifically, the best hand/score at the end of the contest, better than that of the nearest competitor! I smile as this reminds me of an old story I like.  Someone took the time to put on running shoes when a bear was sighted. "Why the running shoes? You can't out run that bear!" The rationale: "You don't have to out run that bear, only the person next to you!"

1. I play because it's free.
2. Because it's free, I get the opportunity to sometimes play the new games that only Gold get to play. From that opportunity, I can determine whether or not to risk my money on a game that may or may not suit my goals.
3. I also enjoy reading the gold comments during the contests. Especially yours.
4. Please don't give up your Gold Membership. It's only $.26 cents a day, and I'd truly miss you.

I play because I am absolutely the most eternal optimist and somehow, I am going to find the pony at the bottom of the pile of ...um..manure(?). I am having health issues right now, and can't get out like I used to, and at feels like I am playing in the casino. My scores on this site and in the casino are just about the same, so what the heck. Just a week ago, you were the cheer leader for going Gold..are you having a bad day? You can't quit,,its not in the rules. Nope, no-no, uh-uh, negative..get cracking son, and just know there are thousands of others who want to win and 25 who ultimately do.

i play the contest.because its there to play.i enjoy taking a break it helps clear my mind.and i have also made a lot of friends.and Edog your one of them.

Interesting topic. I have played on the site from the very beginning, before there even was a chat! I play because it's fun, win or lose (mostly I lose, but when you get mostly pairs of 5's, it's hard to win). That being said, the contests are always fun, you get to try new games and I love the daily contests. I agree with Boops who said she likes the shorter contests 50 hands and I would suggest that for a future contest, how about a winning excluding a dealt in hand? That would be kind of fun, wouldn't it? Also, I agree with all who said they have met many friends on the site--I have too and enjoy chatting with so many. The price of the gold membership is really reasonable considering other forms of entertainment, so to me, it's a bargain. And, I agree Billyjoe is the BEST thing about this site. (need to always humor the old boy)
