Re: What are the chances?
Of course the 1 quad had to be Aces just to rub it in a little more on a JOB game......
Ok, So... on my last day in AC 12/31 I'm playing a $5 SL machine, dealt a 4 followed by 4 Aces, the rub- I was playing Eduardo's favorite DW. Yes, I ditched the 4 hoping for a 2 to no avail. Dirty Ratsafirtz.

You should have dealt an ace with 2's instead.
What are you doing on a $5 machine any way?!

Yeah, I've had 4 aces with and without kickers so many times playing OEJs I've long ago lost count. Always gives me a good chuckle. However, I get 75 credits instead of 20.

I can almost guarantee being dealt 4 Aces while playing DW or JOB at least once a trip.

Well, the Royal finally hit after about 122,000 hands and about 30 sessions. Here is the ultimate rub. (my fault of course.) Budget was bust for the day after alternating playing 5 or 10 coins on a quarter machine. Three coins left for the last hand. Dealt 4 to the Royal and a regular flush. Of course I tossed the flush. I knew before I drew the last card that the King of Diamonds would be there because I had only 3 coins/credits left. So kissed the 1k goodbye and settled for less than 200 bucks giving me back about 40% of my session instead of doubling it. This was late at night, no attendants around to watch my machine while I hit the ATM, etc. In hindsight, I should have called the casino on the cell and paged a slot attendant to watch the machine for a couple of minutes. I know this is not the only story like this. It is just weird how stuff like this always seems to happen. I know systems don't work in the long run, but I was wondering if anyone has ever tried playing 1 extra credit over 5 for every 800 more coins lost after the first 4000 are lost until the Royal hits. I imagine that could get quite expensive, but if you don't go broke doing it, when the Royal finally hits, you would be at least even. I guess there is always the possibility that the Royal will never hit or you would need to bet more than the casino allows per hand.

I never tempt fate with less than a max bet play.

I play a lot of one coin Video Poker and have hit a number of 200 coin Royals. They're all upsetting, but I've learned not to beat myself up for it. In my world, negative expectation games are the norm and I believe I save a lot more money playing one coin than I'll ever make on a Royal once in a while.
