It was a VP player next to me who told me about this site, and the rest is history. I pass this tip along when it seems appropriate.

Marie,
Like you I try to pass on the websites to help people learn about VP. Helping someone usually leads to positive results.
Right you are! LL. Windsor Caesars handed out two free dated buffets to everyone in line picking up ordered concert tickets, earlier this year. It was to compensate for a canceled concert that we had not even signed up to attend. I had been chatting with the friendly peeps, in line behind me. I handed them those buffet passes. We would be away on vacation and unable to use them. Another time, a stranger handed me Windsor buffet passes they could not use. The list goes on. We had to catch a plane in Vegas and could not use the free FOLIES BERGERE Tropicana tickets from the big wheel spin in front of the casino. I handed them on to strangers in line. They probably won two decks of used cards on their spins. That was a great show that we had already seen and was worth seeing again. Alas, it has closed. Someone else handed us a bunch of tickets for the tram, when they had to catch a plane. Pass those freebies on or leave them in the room to reward the help, instead of tossing them. "What goes around, comes around!"

Poor guy sat next to me tonight at the bar.  I was playing $1 denom TDB and having no luck.   He began by exclaiming "No wonder no one is sitting here... this machine only plays keno !"   At which time, since he said he looking directly at me, I turned with a slight smile and showed him the "other games" button.   I choose not to begin conversation though and returned to my game.    Less than a minute later he was asking me if the money "goes in here " ???   pointing to the cash slot.    I said "yep" !  with as much spirit as I could muster being down 3 units.     A few minutes later I busted and left without a word.        Seemed like a nice enough guy... but I just didn't feel like talking.   Oh well... I did, however, make up the lost units - and more - elsewhere on the floor.     I guess I can be a bit of a "dud" sometimes.  LOL

Sounds familiar.   In Florida we have a lot of seniors that come to the casino just to have something to do.  The "More Games" button is something they don't know anything about.  Usually, it's a nice lady that is looking for Deuces and is annoyed that the machine doesn't offer it until I show her where it is.   I have to be very careful with this because before you know it they are asking you for the correct play on every hand.  I got in trouble with this a few years ago when I gave someone a few correct hands and they started arguing with me about how to play, so I don't do it anymore.  I usually say something like "It's your money, play the way you want" or "If you want to give me your money, I'll play it for you".  That usually stops the questions.  Some people just want some company.   I don't mind chatting a little, but I don't want to become a psychiatrist (not even on TV).

I'm curious. What do you mean when you say you're down "3 units"?
