Re: More hideous VP results, but with a twist
I could explain further, but that would only turn into a spat which is not necessary over something so silly. Doris I apologize if you did not intend to sound accusatory. I wish you all good luck in your gambling adventures.
As for instincts, we all would do well to learn from ours . I find that Americans today are often inclined to take what is handed them and not think for themselves. Iraq should be a lesson to all. Historically, this was not the American way.
Following systems may not always get you the best results in gambling, especially systems set up for long term results if you are only playing for a short time. Learn to play well, but trust your instincts and most of all, enjoy yourself.

How did you find Americans yesterday Francois? Please try to keep political views out of this forum. Thank you in advance.

Having traveled to much of the world, I can honestly say that, with all of our faults, this is still the greatest country in the world. That helps explain why the lines to get IN to this country are so much longer than the lines to LEAVE.
As for history, if you hail from France as your name might suggest, you may be thankful that you do not have to speak German, thanks, in part, to our country NOT just thinking about ourselves.

Yes, America was truly great when it fought the World Wars. That was 70 years ago. Do not compare your youth today to those heroes of generations past. Look at your wars since. Look at Vietnam. Look at Iraq and the present situation in Afghanistan. Even those who do fight bravely now serve leaders who are not worthy of their title, while the rest stay home, play their video games, and argue over the foolishness that your political groups toss about while thinking the renown earned by their great grandfathers somehow rests also with them. It fades.
I myself still enjoy your country, but there is a reason Europeans can now dine like kings in your restaurants while many of your own citizens stand outside begging for money or in the unemployment lines. France has problems of its own, but I am afraid that America is not the shining light that was once so bright, no matter what the waiting lines appear to demonstrate. Powers are rising in other places, not because they are more pure or offer hope (indeed the opposite) but because America too has lost its way and each generation is less than the one before.
But all these words, and this is not the place for politics as Tedlark says above. I will allow you to respond if you would like to have the last word, but I will then leave it alone and return to video poker discussion only which is much less depressing.

My only response will be with a few facts about "our" wars...
VIETNAM WAR
Number of military casualties in the 1st Indochina war
French Union Forces
89,797 killed and missing in action
IRAQ
Attacks in Baghdad and north Iraq killed 15 people Monday as France joined the list of countries offering help in combatting a protracted surge in bloodshed months ahead of elections.
AFGHANISTAN
A total of 88 French soldiers have died thus far. 70 soldiers have been killed in action, of the 18 others: seven have died in vehicle accidents, one in a helicopter crash, two committed suicide, two have drowned, one was killed by a lightning strike, two died from a non-hostile gunshot wound, one died by friendly fire, one died in an accidental explosion, and one died of unknown causes.
The largest number of soldiers killed was when French troops were ambushed in the area of Sirobi, some 50 km (31 mi) east of Kabul, in August 2008. Ten French troops were killed and a further 21 wounded in the attack - the heaviest loss of troops France has suffered since deploying to Afghanistan in 2001.
Also 725 French soldiers were wounded and injured in Afghanistan.
Most freedom-loving nations are willing to put there citizens in harms way, even on foreign shores, if they feel the cause is justified.

Don't you ever say one more thing about our men who served or are serving now...go back from where you came from...you have not sat at nights and wonder if your children are alive..each generation IS NOT LESS than before....

The men who serve are the bravest of the brave. I have no complaint against them and respect them most highly. Your leaders with their schemes are the ones who shame you in sending them off to war, along with a popular culture that continually declines. It used to be that Americans were free to be all that Americans can be, free to uphold their values, free to stand for what is right for themselves and their families. The world longed for that freedom. Now US "freedom" is becoming the freedom to "do whatever the **** I want" and nobody had better say anything about it. There is a world of difference in those freedoms.

I am not sure who stepped on your toes, Francois, but it must have been painful.
I would guess that more than half of the population in the entire world would NOT be able to be having the discussion that we are now having without intervention of some sort from their government.
It gets down to the individual level. If you, as a person, believe in something, and believe you are right, you are able to persevere in spite of obstacles that may be set against you. There are few places in this world where that is possible.
