Back earlier today from an overnight at Mohegan Sun with the Mrs. I played my version of this system on my favorite game up there which is Double Down Stud Bonus Deuces Wild. Everything worked very well even though I ran into some real cold cycles. Luckily I had about 8 hours to play almost all overnight and early AM. I managed to cash out 3 separate ten dollar or so tickets before the first cold cycle. This game is only available in quarter and up, but the machine lets you bet up to 25 coins and if you wish you can change to dollars from quarters and also bet up to 25 dollars a hand.
The first cold cycle took away about 40 quarters before something good hit. At that point, I was still betting 1 quarter since I hadn't lost a net of 50 yet. I hit a Wild Royal which pays 80 for 1, but you double after you see the first 4 good cards so it paid 160 or 40 bucks. At this point, I was up 60 bucks.
After that, it seemed to go up and down being down about 20 quarters and up about 20 quarters. Then the next really bad cycle hit. My bet had progressed up to 9 quarters and I was getting nervous since I am now betting 2.25 a hand. Usually I can tell when a machine is about to do something good. I had 3 separate shots at 4 deuces since I was dealt 3 and all failed. However, the machine had stopped eating any more money and went into kind of a give and take pattern with minimal dud streaks and also minimal upside streaks.
Now the good news. With 9 quarters bet, I hit another Wild Royal paying 1,440 quarters or 360 bucks. This streak had taken back all that I was ahead before, but that one hand put me up about 200 and I cashed out for the trip. The sun was already up and it was 8 degrees outside. Luckily, we got there so late I think after 11 pm that all they had left was a beautiful sky suite that was comped. I didn't get much sleep before heading home, but had a nice breakfast on them. I wish it were easier to practice this on this site. The Mrs did OK too on her nickel multiplier game hitting two separate quads with aces. My method is a little different to the one in this thread, but the idea and progression is very similar. I still am unwilling to risk the 3 grand or so to play this method properly. Maybe if I can build up a little at a time, I will risk it. Otherwise there will be times when as I progress up, I will bust that day's bankroll.

Good job Olds442  Thank you for the great report on your last venture. In order to have any kind of success at VP one must have a good progressive system to play. Otherwise all your doing is giving away your money.I plan on playing tomorrow (Monday afternoon) at my favorite casino, Coushatta in Kinder, Louisiana. I should be able to report on my play Wednesday.

I respectfully disagree.

I respectfully disagree.
Tell me why you disagree when VP is a negative game? Everyone knows that VP is a negative game and the only way that you stand a chance of walking out a winner is with perfect play and or good luck. Over the long run you will always end up a loser. In order to have any kind of a edge or chance of winning over the long run a person needs to have some sort of a good system/ Strategy. As another good example, check out Florida Phils single coin system, he has had real good success with it.

Congrats Olds on the wins for you and your wife. I may give your variation a try. It sounds like a cross between mdmick's and Floridaphil's.

Good luck on your trip to Couchatta mdmick. We have never played there before. We do plan on playing there for the first time on a trip we have planned in November. We play at CET properties and our local we play at is Horseshoe Bossier City. Have you ever played there before?
In order to have any kind of success at VP one must have a good
progressive system to play. Otherwise all your doing is giving away your
money.
This statement needs some clarification. If you play negative expectation games (including comps) and never vary your bet, in time the negative odds will reduce your bankroll to zero.  In order to beat or break even on a negative game you must use a progressive betting system and be lucky enough to hit jackpots at a denomination higher than your average bet.  A good progressive system will also prevent you from giving back most of your winnings. This is my opinion.  Others may have differing opinions on how to accomplish this, but no one will argue that you can beat a negative expectation game long term by playing straight and level.  Some people will argue that you can never beat a negative game no matter what strategy you use.  I respectfully disagree based on my experience.

i will throw my two cents in. the way the paytables are now, the way the comps have been reduced, there is only one way to break even or win....luck. you need luck if you have a system and you need luck if you always bet the same amount.    you are not supposed to win over the long haul. even our esteemed expert from vegas, who plays the best machines, knows most of the games/odds better than most of us, admits that it has gotten more difficult. and, most of us are forced to play inferior machines.  it is a game, have fun, be disciplined, know your limitations and your loss limit.

Go to the website FreeSlots.com and hit the video poker button. They have a counter. They also have perfect strategy. Set it on warn and when you make a mistake it will let you know. They have BP and DDBP on it.
