Re: What's a really high ADT?
I also was so tempted to ask BillyJoe if he would let us use his unused Mirage suite last year, and was willing to give him a nominal amount of money to have it. But I didn't. I've regretted it ever since. No way I'm gonna pay for the comp rooms he earned...
I would bet that this person, BillyJoe, would have just given you and your girlfriend the keys to the suite, and told you to have a great time, without asking for a dime. I have heard that he is just that kind of guy.

Well I'll certainly have the last laugh. A few things I've noticed that are probably well orchestrated by the hosts.
1. When I first started getting comped suites I specifically asked my host if getting a better room would have any negative affect on my offers / standings. I knew very little about the system but felt that I really didn't need such a huge room. I was told that it would NOT have any effect. Deception? You be the judge.
2. Often when I would request a room from my host for 1 night I would arrive to find that he booked it for 2 or sometimes 3 nights. Done on purpose to dilute my ADT since they hit my offers hard when there was a room booked but no play? Deception? You be the judge.
3. My host waits a year to tell me that my wife's visits are killing my ADT. Deception? You be the judge.
I've come to learn in my years that thing like this are either artfully crafted in order for them to keep control, or come to be out of stupidity and laziness. My hosts excuse is that he wasn't looking at my account and hadn't noticed. Either he's sly like a fox, or actually dim/lazy guy. Not quite sure. He is a nice guy with a great personality, but you know, that's only half the picture.
The final straw came a few weeks ago when I visited with a friend and had requested (2 weeks prior) a room for myself and a room for my friend. Something that I have done 2-3 times in the past. Was told "all set" by my host but when we went to check it, lots of typing then, "you have no reservation". Once again standing in the lobby with a friend with a happy face smiling back at me. They fixed it, put us both in standard rooms. Host said he would "make it right". Never saw him the rest of the night, never received as much as an email or text.
Haven't been back since and at this point don't have any intention. Parting of ways I guess. One less patron for AC's failing economy. Certainly a game of "what have you done for me lately". If I treated my customers the same way my business would have been gone a long time ago. We service our customers (high end estate homes) 7,8,10 years into the future because that's what they deserve. Know many builders that will do that? I know a lot that won't take a call 2 months after the closing. Seems to be Harrah's approach.
Working through my gambling withdrawal's, still have casino night on my machine at home. Just love those 200+k hand pays, but the bottle service at home is just about as bad as it had become at Harrah's. Guess the economy is still hurting all over the place.
Haven't closed the door completely but with spring upon us (actually snowed a little bit here today), I'm directing my attention to things at home and work. Will probably squirrel up a nice bankroll for a mid-late summer return like I used to, but the crazy days are happily behind me.
I'm guessing that I just followed the very predictable path of most high denomination players and that Harrah's has that path described to a T. Either that or they are so clueless that they have no idea what happened just that I disappeared. I used to think they had iron fist control over every machine, every pay table etc. Then I met the slot manager and realized he really didn't have a clue. Based on that I'm not sure what the truth is, but the really great thing is, I don't care. I have no regrets for my time spent at Harrah's I had lots of fun. Towards the end it wasn't much fun and that's what signaled the end. Last fall I probably went on a few months to long at high denom's and then had to play short this year, but what can I do. It's just like when you are playing the machine and can't really stop. Good thing is, now I have and I'm already feeling a great sense of liberation. I spent a lot of hours tooling up and down the GSP. Hopefully after a few months if I decide to have another visit some of the excitement will return. That would be the best thing that could happen.
My very best wishes and good luck to all of the great people of vp.com I'll still be around, but I wouldn't expect any pictures from me unless I cross a million bucks playing my $25 10 handed STP at home. That's worth looking at even if it isn't real money...
Be good.

I am loyal to M Resort in Henderson, and have a really great host. We normally get five nights comped in a suite. My play for those five days is about $120,000 coin in, and my spouse will have a much smaller amount run through the machines.
I always get $100/month free play . . . not much!!
We used to get $200 in Food/beverage per day, for the entire five day stay.
Two stays ago, we only got $100 per day. Asked my host.
Explanation: "I pushed the wrong button on the computer, and accidentally entered the wrong comp amt."
Okay, fine, even if we were "over" the $100 food/day, it was erased anyway that trip.
Then, recently stayed there again, and magically the exact same $100 food/day was entered for us. Clearly, this was NO mistake, we have been downgraded, without any explanation from our host. But, again, any overage was in fact erased at checkout.
I think there is increased pressure on hosts to lower comps, in the casino's interest of pure greed.
We still like M, and like the decent paytables, so they probably know we won't stray anytime soon. Not to say we haven't "cheated", and have discovered that The Palms is really, really good to us with greater cashback and nice rooms, for a lot less coin-in.

roveer my hats off to you for unteathering from the casino. They give you the freeplay and the rooms; just enough to get your feet (and bankroll) back in the door. I had a host from Hollywood Joliet leave me a voicemail the other day and the host said for me to stop by Thursday and pick up a couple hundred dollars they had waiting for me. I didn't go and I had no intention of going. I go to casinos on MY terms and when I want to, it's not the other way around. I also am content to play here on this website and have fun. I will still go but I've also curtailed my casino trips. Just because there are 7 casinos all within an hours drive from me doesn't mean I have to patronize them all the time. Restaurants and bars in Illinois now can have up to 5 video gambling machines in them, all nice and legal like. State regulated, etc. I have not dropped a single dollar into one and it would be so easy to do while I'm standing waiting for my carry out order. I too, would rather save up a nice bankroll to make a run. Preferably in Las Vegas. The extra money that I have won I put aside and I do beneficial things with it and shortly I'll have zero credit card debt because of this habit. I only put so much away for gambling because then its not as easy to go to a casino. My most recent outing to Four Winds I left up about $2,700.00 and I was very happy. I was also mad at myself because at one point I was up $3,100.00 and because I got a bit greedy I left $400.00 of MY money there. Again, good luck to you and enjoy your summer.

In my opinion, ADT is an 'antiquated' way of measuring a player's opportunity to a casino. I believe, for it's own preservation, casinos will shift to other metrics to find the correct incentives to bring in clients. The casino industry, if nothing else, is a survivor - it will figure it out.

said it before, casinos are not your friend. and, hosts are sales people, nothing more. anyone who has ever sold for a living knows that your employer sets the rules and you must abide by the boss's rules.

The casino industry, if nothing else, is a survivor - it will figure it out. I would disagree with this statement.....the last 7 years have seen unprecedented (and previously UNTHINKABLE) failures through out the casino industry in a variety of locations and markets. I will meet you half way and say the Casino industry is by no means "DYING", but it is no longer the ironclad, sure thing it was in the 1990s. The reasons for this are well known and have been discussed in depth, and everyone can pick his or her favorite reason du jour as to why casinos are fighting to survive instead of coasting along....Roveer: You just revealed yourself to be a microcosm (on the CUSTOMER side of the economic equation) for the DEATH of Atlantic City over the last 8 years! Your statement "now there is one less high denom player for AC and its economy" essentially summed up the WHOLE sordid, awful, frustrating mess that AC finds itself in......and what ACTUALLY happened to you, to be "Driven" out by your favorite casino and the incompetent Host, is a HUGE HUGE reason why AC itself is in the situation it now finds itself.......picture Roveer's debacle repeating itself over and over since 2007, with some variance and personal differences from each player to player, but essentially it is the same song over and over: The GOOD, loyal, regular players have been driven away by the INCOMPETENT, shortsighted, cluless casino management that has plagued AC for so long....The reason AC is shriveling up since 2007 is NOT solely (nor even MOSTLY) due to rampant competition.....it is due to AC being UNABLE (or unwilling) to keep up with the competition, it is due to AC being Unable to RETAIN its existing customer base because AC fails at the most basic levels of customer service, customer satisfaction and customer relations.....roveer's situation embodies it to a TEE! All these years people like DORIS insisted I was simply being "SUPER NEGATIVE" about AC, that I was BASHING AC (whatever that means!) Now everyone can see that this was not the case, that I have been since 2011, pointing out and talking about in as accurate a manner as possible the precise problems and nature of the problems that plague AC....and I have correctly been identifying what needs to be done to (a) STOP THE BLEEDING and (b) start regaining some of that lost blood. Roveer's tale backs me up.......

And when the quality of the salesmanship / client relationship deteriorates to an absurdly low level, the buyer will go elsewhere.
I vote with my feet. I walked out of Harrah's 3 weeks ago and don't feel one bit sad about it. Their Product is not what it used to be on many, many levels.

Let me sum it up.
I loved Harrah's. I had a really great time there. I also saw a significant decline in their quality of service directly related to cutbacks they put in place. Their people don't even realize how much us customers perceive the changes that have happened. I could go on for paragraphs about the decline in the quality of their services. This is a kitchy market that we all play in, remove a few things and it all starts to fall apart.
I tried to enlighten my hosts as to what was important to us players. (mostly respect, I never harassed them for comps) The first time, I was accosted by a drunk host, the most recent time I was met with "your ADT" and his planning for his "51 shades of fashion" show. Now it's pretty obvious that they have lost their focus on the client. It's not lost on me, and I've decided to move on to other things. Their loss, not mine. Recently an attendant remarked to me, nobody plays those machines any more, your the only one. That's telling in so many ways.
Again, no regrets, just no longer something I want to be involved with.
I would agree that ADT is an outdated measure in our current time. It's an "what have you done for us lately". Maybe I'm coming from a perspective on not being on top at this time, but like the pamphlets say, "when the fun stops"....
I'm being abbreviated here, I could go on for hours. Suffice it to say. They brought themselves down, not us.
Let them have their Nickel players, but don't expect to pay the bills with those folks. Hense the chapter 11.
Had a really bad session on the home machine tonight. Nothing was hitting. The really great thing about it is, I didn't lose a F'ng dime... whoowaa. A winner.
