Rascal-theres 1 thing wrong with your statement...with the Beta games (for me anyway) I will play games I would NEVER play for real, just for the kick. I would NEVER EVER play 50 play in real life and I would certainly not go through 10,000 coins as I would with the Beta games! LOL I guess I could just play an allotted amount of credits and then stop as though  I am out of money--but what would the fun be in that?

One of the perhaps unintended benefits of the Beta games now offered on this site is that a player who is truly being honest with himself/herself can play an uninterrupted session for free over a long period of time and actually see that they are not winners, after all. If one will truly use this tool and refuse to rationalize away the hard, cold results then it might provide a splash of reality to some of those who need it.

Great post!  I'd like to add to what you say about the Beta games.  There are many players here with different views of, and strategies for, VP.  The Beta games offer all an opportunity to show their stuff long term, in a you-can-run-but-not-hide environment.  That assumes that at some point we all get our personal favorites added to the current set of games.

I'm not sure which group I fall in Rascal.  I definitely do not delude myself into thinking that I'm going to come out ahead overall.  Where I get most of my play, there are no "full pay" machines nor are there many close enough to allow comps to make up the difference....assuming that the comps are for things that I would pay for anyway.I do look for the best pay tables available, but I'm not anal about playing full pay machines...can't do that else I wouldn't be playing at all!  I do insist on playing the short pay and full pay machines with adjusted strategy when necessary (mathematically adjusted!) to minimize my loses.  Basically, it is "recreation" for me.  I can have as much fun on a nickel machine as a $1 machine.  The denomination doesn't alter the strategy and the challenge.
