Re: Every Girl Remembers Her First!
@Vman96,
That's the difference between a recreational player and an AP. Whether it's a class II or III, most just play for enjoyment. Few actually spend hours training/practicing for a profit. I consider myself recreational although I am constantly practicing on my training software too. Even if I don't walk away a winner too often, it's usually break even so I feel comfortable knowing it paid off to practice.
I strayed off topic again. Congratulations on your good fortune.

got to agree with luv, regarding her comments about the guru of vegas. he may be the doctor of VP, but his bedside manner sucks. never thought vman was trying to do anything but help. i always enjoy his posts. i just think he needs to know that not everyone looks at playing VP, the way he does. some play for fun and are not concerned about a couple hundredths of percent difference between games or cards saved. i would have thought one would have welcomed him pointing out the difference between a class 2 and 3 machine. class 2, is not real VP, it is slots/bingo..always a good idea to know what machine one is playing and practice never hurts. but, let's not kid ourselves or anyone else. the overwhelming majority of play done by posters on this site is on negative expectation games. even the vegas guru stated that in 2014, outside of comps, he LOST money. play enough, one is likely to lose. enjoy the game, play within one's means and get as much value as one can get from the casino.

Having been the recipient of some uncalled for barbs from Bob and a fan of VPW, have to agree with Notes. Ditto for his comments regarding VMan.

@Alpax - When people are nasty, inflammatory and insulting, I return the favor. That is the case with Mr. Dancer. You only need to look at past posts of his. I post on this venue the same as everyone else. I don't seek special attention. We don't often win, and for me as a nickel player, this was a big deal.

I'm not surprised you react this way with Bob given the tone of most of his posts. Tact is a quality that Bob really lacks. But it's sad that you apparently think I was just as nasty, inflammatory, and insulting in my post. But I also wasn't going to let the biggest load of bull**** in the video poker world go blissfully ignored. New York state should be ashamed that they allow this crap on the floor. I do apologize for being one of the first responders in the thread though. I really should have waited a day at least after a few "nice hits" and what not, which I DID say, btw.
But edog was right, "no good deed goes unpunished." Best of luck to your sister.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Timing is everything in life. Let the bliss cycle play out in peace. NYS video lottery set up is anathema to me. But when I tried explaining to my friend that this was the deal, he was incredulous, citing friends who've won thousands. Which does not refute or contradict the horrible odds such a system creates, of course. People see four figure results and they are down with it. Horses for courses.

first off congrats to the lady and her win...Second, this continued sensitivity on certain posters' part about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that can be taken or interpreted in multiple ways is killing this forum....in other words, I encourage all people here to ignore Ted's repeated attempts to stir sh*t and talk condescendingly down on anyone who he thinks he can get away with doing it upon.....Third, I learned a lot in this thread: I was totally not aware that the entire state of NY had decreed that in all its casinos everywhere, Class III vp (i.e. "VEGAS STYLE") was not permitted and that all machines were slot machines disguised as regular Video Poker.....I am glad I found this out since I was actually considering taking a trip upstate to Lake George and SARATOGA and planned on hitting the several casinos in the area....I stil may go but will only play LIVE poker, or play the horses at Saratoga (the only place I ever bet on horse racing.)Lastly, I am serious.....it's okay to debate, even heatedly actual issues and concrete topics (like "Is VP rigged in AC" or "What's the best betting strategy, MAX coin or Florida Phil's less-is-more tactics", etc etc): But this faux political correctnes, debating the alleged intentions of certain posters who post something is BS.....VMAN did all of us a favor with his post, as did others.......

db, i may not be understanding your post. the indian casino in NYS are class 3. the casinos that are run by the state are class 2.

@VMan, no, I don't think you were nasty or inflammatory. Before things changed in FL, we had the Class II bingo slots. We played it because it was the only thing that we had. Before that, if you wanted to gamble you went on a day cruise to nowhere. Truthfully, I don't look at tables, because most of the time they aren't that great. I play because I like the game. I feel that I make good choices (most of the time) when holding hands, and always like to try and better my play. Believe me, when I posted my win I didn't think it was going to get this heated...Calm down all! LOL.
