Do Pay Tables Really Matter?

I think it's pretty much apparent that time spent playing will has a proportional representation of the pay table you are playing on. Shorter the play, less the influence. Longer play, more influence. Take DDB for example. Two machines side by side. Players sit at each machine for 30 min of play, then each player sits at each machine for 8 hours. One is a 9/6, one is a 8/5, single line $1. Costing one player $5 bucks everytime a full house or flush is it. After 8 hours of that, it could, and would, be a significant difference. Short term perhaps not so much.
For the casual player, plays very quickly, maybe not so much. For the 800 hands per hour or faster players who play for hours, pay tables make a more significant difference. Maybe I'm just stating the obvious. Just my thoughts.

DAA, I believe ' intelligent' players would disagree with everything you said. They will argue all play is continuous, whether you play 10 straight hours or ten 1 hour sessions.

This is not my opinion, but I am not among the intelligent players.

Are you referring to the 8/5 BP game with the $5000 jackpot in my original post?

Bonus deuces played with basic strategy holds 1.90 + 1.1 + 3.09% = 6.09% to the RF and 4D. For a speedy player, that's about $60/hour or a few hundred per session at the quarter level!

Consider myself a newbie even though I've been playing videopoker for years.....while doing some reading this weekend I ran across a section in a book I just bought talking about Class II and Class III machines and how they relate to VLT (video lottery terminals). In essence it said that Class II machines are VLT's, wins are predetermined...... and in this case it seems to me the pay-tables don't matter. It went on to say that on such machines strategy doesn't matter either. These machines are located in small casinos and especially in indian casinos. This was a bummer for me since I play Harrahs Cherokee most of the time. This may have been discussed before and I apologize if this is duplicate information. No easy way to tell if a machine is Class II or III either.
