buff,i wouldn't mind seeing manning pull it out too and then go out a winner.
if the panthers win someone should dump a bucket of cold water over cam's head so it will shrink back to normal size, lol.

Were I in Lost Wages, I would feel very comfortable with the over.

Gonna take more than a bucket ... MVP award sure isn't an ego deflator. What's the temp of the SF Bay? Webman, can I get a Dab emoticon?

Good Luck to both teams.

Turn out the lights.....

The game is on the line and Newton is backing away from the ball after he fumbles. Time to make a play to win the Super Bowl and he's worried about getting hurt.

Cancel that dab emoticon order, Buff!
I have plenty of humble pie to eat. My crystal ball was exceedingly cloudy. The under came through. Nobody had Carolina scoring ten points. I had them winning by ten!

There must be a pizza discount offer forthcoming for us in the wake of this unlikely triumph. Rocky Mountain High!

My take on this game was: It wasn't the most exciting game...but certainly one of the most surprising  I Truly am happy for the Broncos and think if Peyton decides to go out to pasture...which I believe will/should happen, he will go out with pride and at the RIGHT time.   Mostly, I am shocked at the lack of offense by the Panthers and BOY WAS MY GUESS OFF .  One more thing.....I also CANNOT believe Cam did not try to save that drop.  . Not an MVP move by ANY means....

Great threadDenver's UNBELIEVABLE Defense is one of those things (i.e.  UNITS)  that happens every 12-15 years in the NFL:  A perfect storm of the best TALENT, roster depth, age and contract status  (Talent the most important element of course);   a lack of INJURIES during the course of the entire season (health being second most important element);    the right defensive coordinator implementing the right defensive game plan(s) and philosophy;   And of course avoiding the kind of mistakes ON THE FIELD (turnovers, absurd penalties, etc.)  that can totally derail any and all of the previously mentioned components for success!     Denver's defense has, ALL YEAR LONG since week 1, been dominating and unyielding, which is why I am personally NOT surprised at all they are Super Bowl Champions.     Defense, after all, is the MOST important element for championships in the NFL, and this year's Broncos team was predicated and designed to field a DOMINATING defense in the style of Seattle's Championship team of two years ago in February 2014  (the very team that DESTROYED Denver & Peyton 43-8!)    It is no secret that AFTER that humiliating and terrible defeat, Denver Gm John Elway and his staff set about re-tooling and adjusting the Denver Bronco roster and organizational philosophy which, for the preceding 4 years had centered on Peyton Manning and the high powered offense leading the way.....the net result is what you just witnessed! All year long since training camp in July 2015, the attention in Denver was on Peyton Manning and his feet/neck/aging arm, and whether or not the guy could still play the game at anywhere near the level of prowess he previously enjoyed during the prior 18 seasons.....it was blatantly clear he HAD lost a lot in arm strength and overall performance, so when he developed plantar fasciitis and subsequently missed many weeks people had written off both himself and DENVER for the season......Up until the week 11 regular season meeting when "10-0  New England" came to Denver to play, no one was envisioning Denver doing much more than making the playoffs and exiting quickly.         And then BOOM!         The Season-long litany of Injuries to New England's roster finally caught up to THEM (New England was 10-0 coming in to that Game in Denver, and they subsequently lost 4 of the remaining six games to finish 12-4, losing Home field advantage throughout the Playoffs........ Denver defeated New England on that night starting New England's crash and burn  and JUMP STARTING Denver's Rise! ......and the rest as they say is (as of this morning) HISTORY!    Denver is Champion for the third time in History (3-5 overall in Super Bowls)  and Peyton can now finally shake off the stories that HE is not as good as Brady!!!!    (THE Truth is, if you look at their Stats HONESTLY over both of their careers and consider that Football really is the ultimate  TEAM SPORT,  Peyton Manning is slightly SUPERIOR to Tom Brady as an overall Quarterback!    But I still personally believe that NEITHER can, or ever will, be able to fill Aaron Rodgers'  shoes!)    And if CAM Newton is able to rattle off a string of 7 or more seasons like the one he enjoyed this past season, then (Sadly for DORIS and all other haters)  we will be forced to include Cam Newton in the discussion about the GREATEST Quarterback of ALL TIME!!!!To look at things another way, to better appreciate just what exactly Peyton and Denver accomplished this year......consider the following:If.....IF.....the New England Patriots had defeated Denver in the AFC Championship game and gone on to appear in the ABSOLUTE NFL Record 9th (NINE) Super Bowl, the NFL viewing public and fanbase in General would be subjected to NUMEROUS and ENDLESS stories on just HOW GREAT New England truly is for appearing in 9 Super Bowls (8 of which have happened in the NFL's so called "ERA of Parity" since 1993 which was designed to PREVENT the exact type of dominance New England has enjoyed, thus showing how TRULY great Ne England really is!)    And of course, if......IF.... the Patriots had actually Won the super bowl yesterday, oh my goodness, you'd be hearing about that for the next 6 months!       What I am deftly trying to say is, I empathize with all you New England/Tom Brady Haters, since as a Fan of both, I myself am actually SICK of reading about them!!!!HOWEVER, what I am not in agreement with is the scorn and hatred directed at Cam Newton.....the man is truly the SINGLE greatest offensive Player and weapon in the NFL today, and barring injury, he will continue to get better and better over the next 5-7 years so my advice to all is, BETTER get used to him / it!!!      Plus, I am not alone when I say that there is a tinge of racism in much (not all but much) of the criticism and scorn that is directed at Cam Newton.
