Re: Flip the Win switch back on!!
That is good to know, the vpfree inventory of that casino has not been touched for 5 years. Anything can happen but you've found a diamond in the rough.
I've played in a good amount of places just in California, Nevada, and Arizona. I know Colorado has good games based on the Colorado players here and Phil's trip report, and I recall hearing a past horror story from Phil about New Mexico.
Thanks for sharing!
The Inn of the Mountain Gods in Ruidoso has 9/6 DDB, a good variety of
games, great Indian atmosphere and spectacular views. I love staying
and playing there.
Good example of finding a diamond in the rough. We tried three separate trips to New Mexico and never could find any VP worth playing. Could be because we were looking for quarter opportunities. Beautiful state....

We seem to do better there than anywhere else. Maybe because we are so relaxed and unhurried. A lot of time is spent on the balcony overlooking the lake, mountains & golf course. It's tucked away and 2 hours to the nearest airport in El Paso. The downtown is filled with quaint shops & restaurants and you can also go horseback riding. 75 miles down the mountain is Roswell where you can catch a UFO.
Larry, the machines are in New Mexico and have been doing this for years but it's never occurred on the newer machines, just the older.
I heard from many people that gambling in New Mexico is horrible beyond belief. If you found an opportunity that is good for you.
My guess is that the Terminal Disabled was part of an older program.
Haven't gambled in NM yet and may not. The NM casinos could learn a few things from their fellow tribal Native American casinos. Oklahoma NA casinos usually have some really good odds. Our favorite NA casino in La. - Coushatta offers really great pay tabkes (9/6 JOB, 8/5 Bonus, 15/9/4 DW) even on low denominations. As a result, Coushatta is the biggest profit casino in La.

DaBurglar I LOVE the video!!! 😂😂😂😂.
That Movie was one of my all time favorites growing up in the 1980s.......Eddie Murphy during the 1980s was as funny as they come, and most if his movies reflected that....but Trading places was the perfect mash up of old and new stars and comedy, combining subtle intelligent jokes with bawdy raunchy hillarious fun.......ANYONE recall a very YOUNG JIM BELUSHI in the final scene(s) "LOSING" his gorilla costume?"HEY EVERYBODY! LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO ME!"Sorry, I digress......

I would bet that the phrase "as a result" is improperly used here.

Improper grammar and wording perhaps. Since they don't have to by La. law post their intake one has to find out the information through tribal sources. L'Auberge du Lac and Golden Nugget in Lake Charles take in about $1M/day, information seems to verify that Coushatta takes in more than both Lake Charles casinos combined. Their freedom form state taxes gives them a real edge as well. Several factors also impact their profit. Tthey are the largest floor space casino in La, have the largest number of machines 2,800 (in La.) vs 1,600 for both L'Auberge du Lac and Golden Nugget in Lake Charles. 90 gaming tables are on the floor. Their comps (such as 10¢ cash back for each point at top tier) slot tournament jackpots, and drawing would indicate that Coushatta has a greater margin to work with to compete. $100K slot tournaments quarterly for VIP players are common as are $100K dinner give aways at VIP dinners. The upcoming Saturday Outdoor Cash and Truck Giveaway features $125K in drawings plus a new truck.
Additionally, since they opened in 1995 they have a huge client base. Their philosophy has been to provide quality gaming, quality facilities and maintain client loyalty. Overnight buses come in from as far away as San Antonio, Texas (350 miles away). The approach seems to be working.

I wouldn't say good vp paytables is the primary reason at least. I haven't visited the area myself, but if it's the nicest casino close to Texas, that would be the primary reason. Good promos wouldn't be too be too far behind. Good VP paytables would be somewhat down the list, definitely further behind looser slot machines. VP isn't a huge dent in most casinos bottom line. Id guess that slots outweigh VP at least 80/20 in most places.

I concur VP plays a small part of the overall success.
First, it is not the closest-an extra 30 miles past Lake Charles and not the newest or fanciest. Those properties are the L'Auberge du Lac (LDL) and the year old Golden Nugget (GN) owned by billionaire Tillman Fertitta (Billionaire Buyer) the cousin to the Station Casinos family. Both of those cater to the whales and young rich from Houston-Texas. LDL had its own seaplane to bring in guests from Houston and GN uses Fertitta's helicopter. They have enough limos to evacuate half a city.
But, it is nice to have a nice casino that supports VP. I would estimate Coushatta has at least 100+ VP machines. They are actively maintained and updated regularly. The VP pay tables are the highest in La. especially on the low denominations. When you can get 9/6 JOB, 8/5 Bonus, 9/6 DDB and Ugly Deuces on 2¢ denomination and above it is remarkable. The 1¢ VP 50/100 play still offers 97% range pay tables. LDL has some decent VP at higher denominations and GN is a wasteland. 2-100 play machines with 97% pay tables and no free play on VP. A real killer.

She was so glad the casino had "turned on the machines for her".
Well summer is over and the vacationers are home and back to school so yea the casinos don't have the greed chip in.
After 20 years of play I always do best in Jan. when they trying to get all those people who are not going to play anymore back on the hook. And then in late august sept when they done stealing from the vacationers.
Summer is the worst time to go to casino and any holiday weekend.
