It's already unbearable here in the Valley of Sun. Spring training has started and those folks from the chillier climates are clogging up the restaurants and roadways. By Friday we'll hit 88 degrees with a low round 60. Boston on the other hand will be a balmy 40 degrees with a forecasted low of 18.

Correctamundo CK, correctamundo.
The gall you have to criticize my posts while posting this monument to brainless nonsense and American cultural bankruptcy, 70s style. Hypocrisy x 100
Edited to add: I literally cringe with embarrassment and turn red when I see reruns of Happy days and I think back to my childhood and recall that this was all the rage in the late 1970s. With the exception of the first season and a half, that show was God awful, and its influence explains why my generation (today's 45 - 50 y.o. ) has the problems and issues it does and has made such a silly mess of things in general

I'm guessing you are the reason you have the problems and issues you write of and not the television show "Happy Days."
Aeghhh.......

What problems or issues do you mean specifically TED? You really are adept at totally failing to interpret or understand what other people write...But since you can't help yourself, I will give you the chance to pull your foot out of your mouth and actually elaborate on just what exactly you believe the problems or issues I was referring to are.....But remember, I was attributing them to a whole demographic, not myself. And I was not blaming the show happy days directly, it is a more nuanced subtle type of influence at work here causing people to regress and manifest absurd values.

DaBurglar you again tried to un-paint yourself from a corner by putting spin on your answer. In your most recent post you try to accomplish this twice.
As for the television show Happy Days, being a few years older than you I remember the show with much fondness and not only because it is listed in many, many, lists of the top television shows of the 70's. The spin off shows from Happy Days are also classics but Mork & Mindy is probably the one that garnered the most success.
To me, remembering these shows brings me back to a simpler time and also helps balance those times when reports from the Vietnam War were broadcast. Even you, as a little diapered DaBurglar, fresh from suckling on your mother's teet must have some good memories from the 70's.
So, I do not agree with you attributing the television show Happy Days as being a cause to whatever problems you ASSUME are suffered by your generation. Unless you come up with verifiable poll numbers to support your position I will still continue to maintain that you are alone in the suffering caused to you alone by the television show Happy Days.
I do recollect that Fonzie's leather jacket resides in The Smithsonian and you jumped the shark about 5 years ago.

How delusional are you to imagine that anyone other than you and I care about this BS you continually instigate? Seriously, take it from me, NO ONE cares other than you and I, and I only care because you refuse to just go and focus on or do something else.....That said, you are wrong as usual about the 70s being some nice simpler time.....the decade sucked, in more ways than I can cram into one of my brief posts....There were GOOD TV shows in the 70s however, but Happy days and its spinoffs, while certainly rating high in Nielsens in their earlier seasons, in hindsight suck because they do in fact suck. Stupid, vapid, self indulgent crapola, not culturally or morally significant.....as soon as they started putting Pinky & Leather and the Malachi Brothers out there, forget it. And INCIDENTALLY, by the time Happy days aired in 1974, the vietnam war was all but over......long gone were those depressing evening newscasts that ran in 1968 showing the dead and mangled troops as Walter Cronkite skewered the whole war effort. The Peace treaty that ended the war was signed in Paris in 1973, a year before the first season of Happy days ever aired (plus I conceded, the first season or two of Happy Days was decent TV....it wasn't until they stopped being a nostalgic 1950s sitcom and instead turned into a absurd self indulgent vehicle for quasi super hero/street hoodlum played by a Jew pretending to be Italian. In fact when the North Vietnamese promptly broke the peace treaty in mid 1974 and began their final push to take over the whole country, the NETWORKS made it a point not to give much coverage to this tragic ending & betrayal, instead focusing almost everything on watergate and Nixon's resignation (AUgust 1974) and President Ford's first 2 months in office which culminated in him pardoning Nixon as it appeared he was about to be indicted. Only the final 2 months in early 1975 did any more significant images emerge from SOuth Vietnam, and the only Americans involved were the embassy staff & personnel. "Diapers and Teets".......really? ridiculous
