Per Marine Corps uniform regulations, Marines are not allowed to carry or use umbrellas while in uniform. Female Marines can carry “an all-black, plain standard, or collapsible umbrella at their option during inclement weather†but not with combat uniforms. Same for the revered Pocket Protector.

Normally, given that I tend to be a free thinking introspective human being who likes to know WHY things are the way they are, my next question would normally be, "why, or for what reason, is or are, the regulations the way they are?" However in this case, I am satisfied I know all I need to know and don't want to take up any more of your time. Stay dry
