wow!was that yours??holding 2 and getting 3 perfects 16217 to 1. I think off the top of my head, someone correct me if I am wrong.the gov.loves this person!!
No that wasn't mine. That's the infamous one Richard Brodie got from a Caesars property in which he asked for that machine, then was effectively barred. There was a big stink about the barring and him playing in the WSOP. After a bunch of blow back from other players, the barring was lifted.

I just don't understand the thinking of these casinos. Most of the vp players on this forum lose plenty by the end of the year. Of course I'm speaking for myself here. We post our jackpots and hand pays, but aren't as eager to post horrible sessions and there are many. We put in more hours than slot players in general. More time at the casino means more money for them. Otherwise, there would be clocks all over the place reminding us to go home and cut the lawn or paint the trim. Taking away comps is just another stab in the back. Comps keep us there longer too. So we spend an hour at a free meal....big deal. Costs them very little. Then we get refreshed and go out and play again. Or better yet for them, we turn in for the night and start all over again the next morning. At least that is what I do. I just don't get it. Maybe someone can enlighten me. If they are just looking at pay tables, they are missing the big picture. Most of us don't play picture perfect vp. We take chances, get tired and screw up, deal with poorly maintained machines which costs us more, and sometimes don't care or bother to see what is the best way math wise to play the game. Or better yet, how about the patrons who play vp just like they would play poker at home. There are plenty of those people too. I see them every trip. I get tired pointing things out to them. One time though, I was so happy I did. A very elderly lady was playing job next to me. She had 4 to a Royal. She thought she held all of the correct cards, but her touch wasn't strong enough and she had missed 2 holds. Just in the nick of time I caught it for her and fixed it. She got the Royal for a thousand bucks. That was about ten years ago. She didn't know what to do so she started crying. Luckily, her ancient husband was close by and everything worked out.

wow that's a nice story! I remember playing too fast had 3 to a royal at job with a pair of tens, didnt see the 3 to royal held the tens and the 2 cards making the royal popped up.I felt just great.they say the rng is always shuffling but who knows?? but yes, I think the casinos r costing themselves a chunck of revenue with fuzzy thinking!

I'm probably the only one thinking this, but I wonder how the internal workings of the vp machines are today compared to 10-15 years ago. Seems like while playing in whatever casino way back then, you would see and hear jackpots all around fairly frequently. Now, I rarely see a royal or even 4 aces with kicker. I think I can get by better downgrading 9/6 job to 9/5 than to alter the rng into dealing more losing hands. If each deal is suppose to be a random new deal from a freshly shuffled deck of 52 cards, then my chances of getting a good hand should be the same today as they were 15 years ago. It sure seems like I get a lot of nothing hands nowdays. And I know the gaming commission is suppose to do checks of machines to prevent casino cheating, but in all my years at casinos, I have never seen once any kind of inspection being done.

I've never seen a germ in a casino but am reasonably sure they are there. Same with the gaming commission.

9/6 DDB has been restored to the 4 - 50 play machines. The rest of the games on those remain with the lower paytables, as well as the 3 - 100 play machines behind them, including DDB. It was more like a disappointment seeing those take the hit as those have been my favorite machines there for many years that were left untouched by the powers that be. Southpoint, and Rampart (Michael Gaughan Jr. retiring?) in Summerlin, do offer the most 99%+ payback machines in LV. At Rampart, it's not unheard of to ask for a comp to the Hawthorn Grill (formerly the Carmel Room) and end up with a $200 voucher.

As for machines being much tighter than ever before... I do know someone who used to work as a programmer, and yes, the RNG can be tinkered with, and he would not elaborate any more on that. Take that for what it's worth, but I do know that if a casino got caught using any software or any other method of manipulating the RNG, that they would most likely get their gaming license yanked from them. The gaming control board has a secret "hit squad" who supposedly visits casinos up and down Nevada, unannounced and dressed in regular street clothes, they're not in a uniform with a cape on, and at any given time audit various machines and control servers. I did see a bank of All- Star 10 - plays that used to be near the cashier cage at Orleans roped off a few years ago. I asked when they would be available to play and they said in about 2 hours or so. That was probably that "hit squad".
