That's the primary difference between video poker players and slot players. Slot players know the odds are against them, but they want to have a good time and are willing to pay for it.

Video poker players generally understand that they receive better odds than slot players --- but they have to study and concentrate to get those better odds.

Or, of course, there are always those who want it easy, profitable, and gimme my senior discount!
I agree, but if the recreational player just looks for the "best paytable" from a casual scan, or with help from vpfree2.com, they still will be much better off than slots. This is true as long as their play doesn't have egregious errors.

And heck the Wizard's "simple" JoB strategy gets you within 0.1% of optimal return. And those 16 "steps" don't take too much to remember.

Recreation and more trips approaching 99% and I'm a happy camper, but my results place a damper. Occasionally you get beat so damn bad you switch casinos entirely. That's my crossroads.
