Re: political odds and ends
So how'd the whole tea party thing work out? Anyone remember those crusaders you sent to DC to slay the deficit Dragon? The promise to balance the budget, and cut taxes for people? To take away health insurance from forty million Americans?

usa inflation was 1.6% for the last 12 months, ending 06/2019. yeah, those tariffs are really causing prices to rise.
caterpillar's 2019 1st quarter profit was $13.5 billion. that was a 5% increase over 2018 first quarter. CAT is doing just fine.
they will be fine, unless one of your team's socialist potus candidates make it to the WH, and 'taxes the hell out of them', as de blasio said during the debate.
don't you ever get tired of losing every debate?

I am glad to know that as long as some corporations are making good money and the stock market is up and inflation is down, nothing else matters. A very good lesson for our children: Focus on the money, and don't let racism, vulgarity, womanizing, and the largest turnover among Administration leadership positions in the history of our country distract you. And for God's sake, don't pay any attention to the FOX News poll that shows Trump trailing Biden nationwide by 10 points.

if you are going to critique a post, make sure you follow along with the prior conversation.
the only reason CAT profit was mentioned and inflation was brought up, was in response to another post about the effects of tariffs.
as far as you finding other problems with trump, according to dems, nearly half the country is racist, so that means nothing to us anymore. what is the problem with replacing leadership positions? do the job, or find something else to do.
can't speak for all trump supporters, as to trump's less desirable traits, i hold my nose, pull the lever for him, because i believe in his policies. and, unlike many other pols, he has kept many of his promises.
what is the alternative? a group of left leaning, socialistic, give away 'free' stuff to everyone, allow open borders, free healthcare for illegals, voting rights for prisoners, abortion at birth, free income even for those unwillingly to work, free college, reparations, eliminate all private health insurance, tax the 'hell' out of corporate america and other policies that i find dangerous to the continued success of america.
if the dems are so confident in biden, why are they pleading with 'moochelle' to run.

I don't know of any Democrats who are "pleading" or otherwise with Michelle to run. (Despite your racist terminology, her name is Michelle, by the way.) Also, I do know that Trump, who promised to reduce the deficit, has just negotiated and signed a budget deal that pushes the U.S. even deeper into the red. But that's actually standard operating procedure for a guy who has filed for bankruptcy three times, stiffing his creditors, including very small contractors who were badly hurt. You didn't address the FOX News poll, which is one of the most significant polls taken thus far, because FOX has a history of pro-Trump news slanting, just as some of the other media outlets have a history of anti-Trump news slanting. In terms of what's the alternative, as you asked, instead of grouping all of the candidates' positions into one huge "socialistic" rant, why not individually examine the policy stances of each candidate? Surely you can find someone acceptable who is not a racist tweeting womanizer.
P.S. The highest turnover in leadership positions in history points to a lack of administrative ability on behalf of the executive who filled those positions in the first place. Ask any MBA grad, right wing or left wing, about that. Yes, heavy turnover when a new CEO takes over is not problematic, but extremely heavy turnover among the very executives hired by that CEO is highly problematic.
P.S. #2. Since the horrible Jimmy Carter years, only one president has not had strong stock market performance. That president was George W. Bush, and he was faced with both 9-11 and Hurricane Katrina. Trump brags that the stock market performance during his term is the strongest in history, and that's simply not true.

Also, before anyone attempts to paint me falsely as something that I'm not: I am a lifelong "Ronald Reagan Republican" and former Navy physician with honorable service in a combat emergency medical unit in Vietnam, serving courageous U.S. Marine patients. I am just as appalled at the election of draft dodger Bill Clinton (Democrat) as I am at the election of draft dodger Donald Trump (Republican).

Why anyone would point out profits in the year before tariffs took effect is questionable at best, but it is also irrelevant. American companies are paying the tariffs as Catapiller passes it on to them. How is this a difficult concept to understand? The money is coming out of our pockets and going to the Federal Government. How is that not a massive tax increase?

No,no,no. You disagree politically with notes so he will automatically brand you a baby killer. Either you are in goosestep with the Nationalists or you are with the subhuman vermin invading our country. Seems our American Nationalists have an awful lot in common with their German cousins.
