There is something worth looking into if you haven’t already. It’s possible that one or more of the operators of on line gaming may treat every hand won as part of gross winnings. That would be a tax nightmare if that is the case. I was reading about it on line from several law firms. Since I don’t play on line, I don’t know if that is being done. Hope not.

I'm not familiar with that. Win/loss statements have always varied by operator (including at b&m's). Some statements show total coin in and out; others only show net result. Such statements are unofficial.

Now if the operator is issuing an official tax document such as a 1099 or w2g, that's a problem.

I find you have to be careful with advice from professionals because they may functionally be loyal to the tax authority which controls their licensing. I'm not seeking a good conduct award. I want to satisfy my obligation, and nothing more.
