I know that the cards are random, but it sure is nice to have a
strategy first, than feel bad later that you played usually too long. I
have been hooked on 50 play machines (.02) and go from deuces wild to
double bonus throughout the night. If I am winning I go up to .05. I
don't like to put more than 300 in any particular machine. Anyway last
weekend I was in a loosing streak, down 500. I was down almost 300 in
the last machine I was going to play and I got a royal on one hand, a
couple of hands later got dealt 4 to a royal and got 4 more! The
machine payed well for a while. I was a little tired, as it was my
second day and cashed out with 500!My
sister was a little luckier. She made 200 at the blackjack table, then
was just messing around with a $5 slot machine, on the 10th pull, she
won 4000.00!

A little good  luck never hurts, though.  I,  too, was planning  stay at the the Golden Gate for nostalgia's sake.  Glad you wrote up your last trip.
You can go to Vegas and lose your luggage.  You can go to Vegas and lose your bankroll.  But you don't have to go to Vegas and lose your dignity and you'll likely lose that and a lot more if you stay at Golden Gate!  Play there, but don't Stay There!  <LOL>WE have free room offers from them out the wazoo but we'd rather pay to stay across the street at LVC or Plaza!  It really was that bad.

I hear that the competition is getting fierce, maybe mostly for locals. How can I find these promos? I will be there this weekend.  I assumed you were
referring to club points.  So how many points, cb or benefits did that royal bring you?

Most casinos have separate promotions for non-locals. Since I don't get any of this info I don't think I can help very much.

This past weekend was a holiday weekend and there were many special promos for locals. This particular promo earned me a little over $170 free play for my 4 hours of play. I also earned around $70 cashback at another casino for another 4 hours of play.

Glad you wrote up your last trip.  Thanks for the info. Good luck to all.  Is Shadowman up to 3 or more RF's this month?  Congrats, well deserved.

Thanks. Currently at 5 this month. I've had streaks like this before, better ones even, but I know the worm will eventually turn. I've got in 187K hands so far this year so I'm real close to expectation. Mostly, I just made up for a bad January.

Going back to the $300-$600 per session bankroll because I looked back a few months worth of play and checked to see how I would have done with a $600-$1,200 per session bankroll. The reason for the increase in bankroll size is because I play $2 DDB. Its a little hard to actually say what the true outcome per session would be but I think I came pretty close. Out of 16 trips (2 hour 15 minute drive one way) at the $600 level I would have been out the door in less than 30 minutes in 15 trips. At the $1,200 level it looks like around 9 trips I would have done okay. The last few trips are a very good example of why I carry a good deal more of bankroll size. I was $1,800 down without a quad when I hit A's w/kicker $4K went $1,300 more and hit and hit 4's w/kicker $1,600 after playing several more hours I ended the day $3K to the good. Next trip $2K with one quad (kings $500) out the door in less than an hour $2K loss. Next trip $2K without a quad on my way home in less than an hour. This is pretty much the way its alway been for me and I would imagine for everyone else. Before I end this my last trip I was down $1,600 before hitting quad A's for $1,600 and could have quit even but wanted to play more and ended up close to covering the losses from the two previous trips.

When I'm back in MN I visit a casino 150 miles away and stay overnight. To assure I can last the entire time I usually bring a 4000 credit bankroll. It's lasted every time but once, and that time I cashed in points and got hot the next morning to win back over half of what I had lost. The game is OEJs which plays a lot like DDB in terms of bankroll.

I suppose visiting the ATM would be reasonable as well, but I've always avoided them.

Besides, they charge YOU money to visit your own money. What a racket! Who said the casino owners have the edge.

When I go, I bring $1000.00 It seems that in most cases, if you are losing, the longer you play the more chance you have to make it up. When I play .02 ---50 times, I am betting $5 per hand, and I have never lost more than $600. I normally am tired of gambling after 2 days, that is me, but maybe if I played a little more I might get that one good hand to make up the loss, or maybe I would lose more!!!!!

One thing I have done was to find out where the nearest branches of my bank are in LV. It's convenient and it doesn't cost to visit your own money! Then, if need be, you could deposit larger winnings right away. Unfortunately, I have'nt had that problem YET.

Shadowman,

You mentioned one-eyed jacks. Is that similar to double joker poker? What is the payback on that game. thanks.
