There isn't any way to adjust the payouts here on the site or make it any "easier," because the hands are entirely random. We do this to make it as close to the casino as possible.

Oh, I could think of a couple of ways the contest game software could be changed to favor Gold members () but, as you said, with the large number of total hands being played it would have to be serious rigging to guarantee a disproportionate number of top scores over time by Gold members.

LOL its all good.

I have been playing mainly ddb and have many sessions over 4,500 but my highest was 6,700,so in that respect I would have won money.3,600 being the break even point.

I have come to the conclusion that you must be a gold member to have any chance of competing in these contest.

Iam a free member and have played in 6 contest so far and have never even gotten close. Right now top score is 51,400 and my top score is 6,700.

At least as a free player I get a realistic representation of what the machines will pay out at the casino. Gold members may be in for a surprise when they get their free rooms and tokens.lol.

Iam almost 50 years old and no what Iam talking about.Been to Atlantic City many times.  I think its a shame that these contest are rigged for the gold members.  You can set these games loose [gold member] or actual pay[free member]. I'm not a gold member and I have hit the top 100 three times out of the last 7 contests, including this one http://www.videopoker.com/top_scores/co ... 090930.asp Now talk about getting kicked in the balls! Anyways, I enjoy playing these contests and will even be better when I finally win that coveted T-Shirt. Oh I will one day soon!!! Also, if these contests were rigged to favor gold members, they wouldn't be griping about all the sh*tty scores as often in the chat, now would they?!

Try sitting in a casino and get the same amount of credits . WHEN WILL A LOT OF YOU REALIZE - RIGHT TIME RIGHT PLACE - NOT SKILL - WHEN RNG SAY'S GIVE OUT IT PAYS WHEN IT SAYS TAKE IT TAKES!!! AT LEAST CONTEST IS FREE AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT DON'T PLAY. if your planning to win every time DON'T EVEN GO TO A CASINO  FOR THE BUFFET .

Actually, I have played this in a casino --- penny machine, 30 credits per hand x 3, 5, or 10.   One day - terrific hits, nice wins, money in my pocket.  Next time, bust, bust, bust all day.    That's why it's called gambling.

I'm having a good laugh at the non-gold members complaints about not getting in the top ten.  We, gold members always complain about the non golds winning the contests.  Just like everything else, the "grass is always greener, etc."  In this contest there did seem to be more gold members in the top ten than is usually the case. I have played in all the contests from the beginning and really look forward to them even though I seldom win.  In this contest, I played over 100 sessions and only had one fairly good score.  It's fun, so who cares whether you win or lose?  I did manage to place in the October contest, but that is the only one ever.
I think it pays to "go gold" whether or not you win contests. The chats alone make it well worth the money to join.  I have made some wonderful friends along the way and always look forward to chatting with them. As opposed to other game sites, the people here are almost always interesting, supportive and fun.  Just one person's opinion, but, thanks to Webman and the other support staff at vp, this is the best site around.

I was glad I wasn't able to see the Gold chat this time, as I find it distracting and always wind up shutting it off anyway.

This is a terrible game and one I'd never play in the casino. It's a time- waster when you get the multiplier which is a GOOD thing, but then you have to suffer through those silly graphics  as the multiplier "walks" from your cards to the left side. Ridiculous game!

But, I LOVE this site; it's very well run and maintained. Thanks guys, for offering a free poker site

Thanks again webman for another great contest.

I even managed to have one session winner out of 12 tries.  Of course, this is in keeping with my long standing tradition of NEVER winning anything in these contests (or even coming close).

The good news is I saved my best results in the last week for real casinos.
