I do want to mention one more host. This thread was concerning CET hosts, but I have what I consider a terrific host at The Beau Rivage, an MGM property (I am NOIR), in Biloxi. One email or text, outlining my trip requirements and desires, and I get his response... "Got it".  And he does get it. Everything, and then some, is ready. And the personnel in VIP at The Beau are very special. They will not let you leave until they have answered your question, or addressed your concern. THEY make the calls for you for restaurant reservations, spa treatments, limos, etc. You just see the results.

Yeah, but the Beau makes up for the service with its terrible paytables. That is such a classy place, a great place to stay and play --- if they would just upgrade the paytables.

billyjoe, this is exactly what everyone should be experiencing with their hosts!
At the locals casino in Vegas where I now go the majority of the time, I may not leave a winner, money-wise, but at least I feel like a winner when I get back on the plane, because my host has done everything possible to be sure that my visit was fun, stress-free, and enjoyable.

DougJ:  I do not know if this helps but here is a little tactic that I have used to great success, especially back when I used to stay in Vegas (and Reno) quite a bit (from 1992 all the way thru 2009).........when staying in town for more than a couple days, make an effort to go and visit (even just for a couple minutes) as much as possible your Host(s) at the various properties you stay and play at....get the face time in so that they are far more likely to remember you and associate you as a person (and not just an account or a number) when you communicate with them whether its an email, phonecall or whatever.   In other words, if you are staying in Vegas and are lodging AT Caesars Palace, take a few minutes and meet your host there, or if he/she/it  is located at a different Caesars property nearby, go visit them for a few minutes there......likewise, try and go see your host(s) at other rival properties, like MGM.....try and bring up good and bad points of your most recent stay with them, and make any requests for future stays with them when you got them right in front of you......of course, you'll follow this up later with an email or phonecall or whatever, but again, they are far more likely to remember you and even give you more importance and urgency simply by knowing you personally, and knowing in the back of their mind that you quite easily could show up AGAIN and be standing in front of them!    They will not want to disappoint you......do you see where I am going with this????       And if you have a winning personality you might even motivate them to help you out of genuine affection and concern, rather than fear.....

So DaBurglar you go back to casinos where you REGULARLY lose just because of the, most likely, minimal bounceback offers you get in the mail? Mr. Common, please allow me to introduce you to Mr. Sense.WHat was the point of this Tedlark?    seriously, in the middle of a good and interesting thread, you plop this turd aimed at me, yet disrupting and derailing and distracting the thread for EVERYONE.    wtf?    Really, WHY did you feel the need to post this, in this thread?   Explain it.....what are you trying to accomplish here?

I second that and I also make regular visits to the concierge desk and hotel check in people. Bringing them little treats and asking for nothing in return also goes a long way to making your stay easier and more relaxing and sometimes you will get surprised with a few little things that you didn't even ask for. The wife and I dropped off a couple of little things at the concierge desk, on the way upstairs to drop off our things the other day, and when we came back down a few minutes later, there was an envelope waiting for us with 4 buffet vouchers worth 100- in total. That saved us 50 points for this trip and the other two we will use on a subsequent trip in the near future. Now if only my plate would look more like my wife's plate loaded with fruit, salad, vegetables, and a nice piece of cod or a chicken breast, I would be much better off. I am working on it though.

In fact, based on my last trip where I lost almost 1200 bucks simply playing 99% games like 8/5 BP and 9/6 job progressives at resorts and taj and caesars, I might just flat out abort no matter what offers those other proerties make next month.     DaBurglar you posted the above in this thread and I was merely asking you a question regarding it.   Out of curiosity, what does the acronym wtf stand for? Please be exact as you need to spell it out for me.   Edited to add: This is an interesting thread regarding casino hosts. When I reviewed your post on page 2 of this thread it didn't have the word host in it at all. You again brought up issues regarding play in Atlantic City and you didn't mention at all, any interaction you have had with a host at a casino property.

Do you live under a rock? Oh wait, no you spend all your time trying to always up one
on Daburglar and look like a complete moron. I usually am just a lurker and like to read the excellent posts by most of the people here inlcuding Daburglar. But your last comments as D. pointed out just really showed what an ass...le you are. I just couldnt sit quiet. Now try this acronym stfu. See if you can figure it out....BTW Daburglar, I am a frequent VP player in AC and agree with your observations.

Thank you for your observations TKO, I won't be taking them under advisement.
Edited to add; I stand by what I wrote. If a person walks by a yard and gets bit by the dog in the yard, how many times would it take that person to get bit before they take a different route or do something about the dog?   And the term is not up one, it's one up. Not to one up you TKO but I need to show what an as&**le I am.

Agreed. Now that we stay at one specific casino in Vegas nearly every trip, it's easy enough to spend some time visiting with our host. I may not have that "winning personality", but I am definitely always eager to hear some of our host's old school Vegas stories.

You raise an interesting point. Recognizing staff at your favorite places is always appreciated by them.

So, question to you and everyone else here: Do you tip your host? If so, what do you give them and do you gift them every trip or only on special occasions (holiday)?
