I did not do as well on Monday afternoon at the Borg. Played approx. 3 hrs of 99.69% Super Double bonus and caught quad Kings and Jacks for $300 each time, but machine was soooo cold the rest of the time, I still wound up down $380.Ooh Fah.

Car, a frustrating day indeed. Breaking even after expenses is basically a waste of eight hours on my end.

Car, my maxim rarely breaks serve. You stay, you pay. It's such a shame in your case given the hefty hits you gave back, plus four C notes. I stew in regret at my level. I should have stayed at Caesars. The progressive hit two hours after I left at about $1020. It was at $1000.84 when I passed by later. Bally's music is pretty loud and overbearing too. At C it's truly background. Of course, it's always tolerable when I win. I even sing along.

For now, when the Mrs. and I go together, she is my safe. I am trying to train myself for 2016 not to dip into any winnings just to stay and play some more. I use an old tried and true money belt for that. In one of my weak moments last year, I dipped into the money belt which has to be unzipped to get at anything. I was still in my seat at the machine since I didn't want to lose the machine which was one of the hard to get ones. One of my favorite waitresses just happened to be walking by at the same time. She stopped and hesitated for a moment as I pulled my belt from the loops. " Oh I thought you had a surprise for me " she said. Turns out she had just finished reading "Fifty Shades of Gray". We both got a chuckle out of that one.

FAA & CC - better luck next time.

Olds - for a second there I thought your story would give new meaning to the term: Big Tipper.

Olds, hilarious story. It's so much fun to get that rush when I suddenly go max coin out of the blue. I try this stick and move technique a lot. One day the big surprise has to arrive. I hope.

She's before my time. But breaking even after many a frustrating hour begs the Peggy Lee query. All together now...

I've never been this negative on vp before. Down 7k last year, things starting out bad this year. Playing good 99.5% plus pay tables . Actually thinking of just going to the local Walmart and handing out $20 bills to people. They can use it more than the casinos.

CC, sorry to welcome you to the club, of modern day VP play results. you are not alone. for some losing $7k is a lot, for others, it is acceptible. but, it sounds like these recent results are out of the ordinary for your past play. some will just tell you it is within acceptible margins, question your play skills or your memmory. you can come to your own conclusion. i believe the game has changed beyond simple paytable reduction, in some locations. so many have become members of this club, it is normal to see many playing less than max bet, reducing their time in the casino, playing smaller denominations, anything to extend their play, without increasing their losses. i believe we are at the beginning of a change in the casino business. there are too many casinos, they are too big, built on too much debt, the economy is not improving at a fast enough pace and the demographics are changing. and, they were built for the wrong reason, as a tax source, instead of as entertainment that has value for the player. i am not smart enough to know what will be the end result, but the CET bankruptcy is just a sign of what is coming.

Notes, I agree with you. As far as myself, I practice and make very few and very minimal mistakes on 9/6 JOB and 9/5 SDB, my games of choice. I'm starting to agree with the doubters, even DaBurglar about the new server based machines. Something just doesn't seem right. I've been keeping good records for the last 10 years. Before then I had a general accounting of how I was doing, but didn't keep detailed daily logs like I have since 2006. There is no question, at least in AC that things were good up till the recession and competing casinos in PA, NY and Del. hit them hard, starting around 2007/2008. I was positive just about every year before then and knew some pros in AC who did well for themselves. Of course machines and paytables were much better back then and comps, promotions were also better. I can only conclude that back in AC's heyday, the casinos were doing so well, that losses from knowledgeable VP players were tolerable. Not any more. I was down at the Golden Nugget for dinner last night, didn't play, and could not believe how empty the place was. I am not complaining about my results at VP, still positive for the last 10 years and can cut down on my play or stop completely if necessary. I truly feel sorry for some people I know down there who have lost their jobs, or are working crummy part time jobs with no benefits. Atlantic County has the highest rate of foreclosures in the Country. Really a sad situation and I don't really see any way out for AC in the near future. Maybe some casinos should be seasonal only.
