It's not just discipline ,though. It's about exploiting casinos. I enter this month with well over $2,000 in expected value, not to mention several hundred dollars worth of free food.
I'm not sure how anyone can think that's a bad thing but Phil will be along. I think he's just jealous. I write about my wonderful apartment he tries to put it down.
I warn him on unpredictable weather, he puts me down for three pages, then gets stuck in a storm, and still tries to insult me.
Bitter and sad is no way to enjoy what should be his golden years, but it's too late for him to learn something different.

Those kind of promotions aren't common in AC, but even if they were, I personally wouldn't chase them down. However Borgata does have a 10x cashback day coming up soon. Puts 99.54 JOB, 99.69 SDB and 99.75 Multi-strike 9/6JOB, firmly in positive territory. I wil;l be down that day. Promotion starts at 12 noon, but need to get there earlier to get a seat at a good game.Only question is what to play and what denomination. Thinking of $1.00 JOB triple play.

Car I like to think that I'm a disciplined player and I try totake advantage of the casino promitions in my area that I feel are worth going after.
For instance: during April Harrah's Joliet was running a promotion on Wednesday's at which you could pickup a 3 piece American Tourister luggage set. I also had some weekly freeplay that I took advantage of when picking up the luggage and the first week I left up $150.00 after playing for about 30 minutes (I had a dinner to go to just down the street so I cut my play short); the second week I picked up my 2nd piece of the set and left Harrah's 1 1/2 hours later up $600.00; and, the 3rd week after picking up the last piece of the set I left 2 1/2 hours later up $1,000.00. Not a bad month of April considering I also went one Saturday night and left up quite a bit. Hollywood Joliet has a gas card give away ($60.00 each week for the month) and I picked them up and just played a small amount over my weekly freeplay, losing $150.00 for the month.
So all in all April was a very positive month for me plus I got a 3 piece set of American Tourister luggage and $180.00 in Shell gas cards to boot. Could I have gambled more at Harrah's after getting up? Sure, but looking ahead I had better things to do with the money. Tis the season for graduations and weddings; these usually require cards with green in them.

That's it, not every promotion is worth chasing.
That's where knowledge comes in. In Vegas, you actually have to choose which ones to take advantage of.
Sometimes you can walk to one, sometimes you have to be willing to travel long distances.
Or you can be a lazy know nothing and sit on your ass waiting on a $62 Royal.

Ballys AC used to have nice promotions, but alas no more. A base VP game of 99.97% in dollar triple play with a 3x cahback multiplier. Plus gas cards and slot dollars that could be converted into free play at a 1 to 1 ratio on certain days. So you had three things going at once. Ended in 2007 I believe.
Isn't there anyone else like me who employs Bill Ryan's discipline on

recreationally a few hours a week? I can't be alone on this.
I totally agree with this strategy. I also think chasing down the best deals is a great idea. I absolutely NEVER said playing single coin was anything other than a way to extend your play on a budget. All these things are great topics for this forum and I support them. I can not support glorifying professional gamblers. Gambling is best left as recreation. If someone on this forum doesn't get this, maybe they should attend a Gambler's Anonymous meeting and see what I'm talking about. End of discussion as far as I'm concerned.

Isn't there anyone else like me who employs Bill Ryan's discipline on only playing the best paytables at full coin, but only plays recreationally a few hours a week? I can't be alone on this. You can certainly include me and my wife on that list. We don't go to casinos as regularly as we once did (the local ones simply aren't as attractive anymore), but we do take trips where we play several hours a day.

IIRC the multi-strike , JOB triple plays, and SDB earn at a lower rate than 9/6 single line.
