Re: Pot Shots Anyone?
You're both right. During my last trip, I visited four casinos and played at three. But the benchmark odds are a constant. I am living up to my moniker all too well, taking flight from casinos and AC before any real winning can materialize.

FAA I start setting roots in front of a machine and its rare if I leave a machine after, say, 10 minutes of play. I know there are others who will put a twenty into a machine and if nothing hits they jump but I've never subscribed to that manner of play. I have hit some quick royals, my personal record is within 5 minutes of beginning play, buy I'll usually devote some time to a machine before I jump.
You'll get another royal soon.

If I lose twenty quickly, double the loss usually follows. It's an all too common pattern. Thanks to the hole, a max quad won't even make me whole. Thus I embrace the cheap route early before going all in.

I don't understand how or why a person per a strategy will bet $1 on a $1 machine, $5 on a $5 machine, but not $5 on a $1 machine, and call the strategy logical.

Hit yourself on the head a few times, then put your forehead on the handle of a baseball bat, spin around ten times and suddenly it seems logical.
Don't you see how playing a 97% game is really better than a 99% game, if the the game is negative in the first place?
Hold it up to the light, squint real hard, pretend you failed basic math and it will be clear to you.
Remember the mantra- math only works in Las Vegas.

Possibly more frequently because you can play more hands with the same money. The only penalty in VP for playing single coin is you possibly give up the royal bonus once very 40,000 hands. Playing max coins is buying "Royal Insurance", not a guarantee you will ever hit one. Some players never hit a royal. The odds represent the theoretical frequency that something will happen, they don't make it happen. Why do casinos offer a royal bonus for playing max coins? Is it so VP professionals can get rich? No, it's because it entices regular players to put more money through the machine. More money through a negative VP machine played by a human equals more profit for the casino. The longer you play, the more money you wager, the more money they make and the more you lose. You can be the Don Rickles of the forum if you wish, but you can't ignore these facts. There are many good reasons to play max coins. For the majority of players, making more money is not one of them.

Phil when you mention the "royal bonus" why don't you also mention the "other bunuses" too? Or do you only mention the "royal bonus" because you are talking only of JOB?
Understanding that DDB is the most popular video poker game played, aren't you confusing people just a bit with what you are posting?
Also: when you mention that the frequency of a player hitting aces or quad deuces possibly more frequently because they can play more hands longer with "the same money" is a half-truth. Just like royals there are no certanties as to how often aces or quad deuces may, or may not hit.
You've mentioned many times in the last couple weeks that you ultimately do not care how anybody plays video poker but yet you still push playing single coin. A couple weeks ago I was playing max coin AC Joker Poker while the player next to me was playing single coin. I hit 5oak within 5 minutes for 4,000 credits and this single coin player grumbled. I didn't say a word back and I just quietly waited for them to come and pay me my 2k.

"royal bonus" is the only hand that keeps max-coin games above 98%----with/without your aces variations----with one exception......a game that FloridaPhil should play below maxcoin....and never have to hit a royal....and play at 99.4%.....FP pickem [pickapair].....look it up....you can still find in on gamemakers somewhere in Nevada.....used to be locals favorite downtown Vegas.....
