Here is my original post......without resorting to pure emotionalism or BLIND Mindless patriotism (which is NOT an American virtue), show me or tell exactly what I said is wrong  (or alternatively show me where I condemn ALL veterans in general)......and remember I was responding and taking issue with the notion that JUST because a person is a VET they somehow deserved to win the Price is Right against an equally deserving opponent who was NOT a vet."Ridiculous.....just because a person is (or claims to be) a "vet"
entitles them to absolutely NOTHING beyond the established governmental
benefits and programs (which actually are quite extensive, generous and
far ranging, especially if the vet is motivated to take advantage of all
that there is....)But to say that a Vet deserves to win the
stinkin' price is right more than any other contestant simply because
he/she/it is a VET is idiotic....and wrong.Ask yourself, what if
the vet is like the vast majority of "vets", someone who VOLUNTARILY
chose to join the military, performed the Minimum amount of work and
time of service, did nothing of note nor saw actual combat?  Or worse,
what if he/she/it was a total screwup (believe me there are LOTS of such
individuals in the US armed forces)?   There is no getting
around the fact that the only way to assess or deal with people, of any
profession or classification or ethnicity or whatever.....is ONE
individual at a time."

DaBurglar have you ever thanked your father or brother for serving? If the answer is yes, I must ask why? According to your post, a vet IS NOT entitled to these thanks, they are instead only entitled to: (YOUR WORDS) "established governmental benefits and programs (which are quite extensive, generous and far ranging, especially if the vet is motivated to take advantage of all that there is.....).

Getting back to governmental benefits and programs, you should do a bit of research and see just HOW BADLY some vets are treated at VA medical facilities. Ask yourself why hasn't Sen. John McCain had cancer treatment at one of his local VA medical facilities? He is CERTAINLY entitled to do so. There is a good probability that he WOULD DIE before treatment if he were to go to a VA medical facility.

If it comes to rooting for a vet to win something over a civilian I will root for the vet EVERY TIME. As for being equally deserving, they will be equally deserving as soon as they sign up for military service not knowing what the future holds after enlisting. Death in the military can come in other forms than combat, the number of deaths and severe injuries caused by training exercises is extensive. Did you think about them when you wrote about "performed the MINIMUM amount of work and time of service, did nothing of note nor saw actual combat?" How about military personnel who are assigned duty in a foreign posting such as embassy duty? This is not combat either but their risk of death or serious injury is also increased. Did you think of them when you wrote about "performed the MINUMUM amount of work and time of service, did nothing of note nor saw actual combat?"

On 9/19 I made the post you so nastily responded to on 9/28. Why did you make a post on 9/24 and make no mention of my post yet you responded to it 4 days after you made a different post (in which you made no reference to my 9/19 post)? Were you waiting to see if someone spoke out against my post and you were mad that nobody did so you decided to on 9/28?

I DO have "BLIND mindless patriotism" to the GREATEST COUNTRY ON EARTH. If you do not: please feel free to leave this great country anytime you want to,it is your right.

Hey ted this is not the greatest country on earth (My opinion which I am entitled to, and besides, many people in other countries think THEY live in the Greatest).    I am not leaving, I am going to stay here and say whatever I want, ABOUT whatever I want  WHENEVER I want and it has absolutely nothing to do with YOU, OK?   Thanks glad we are clear on that.   And if this annoys you ..... GOOD.   Makes you hate me even more?  Even better...... I don't care what You think any more than YOU claim you care what I think (although judging by the RIDICULOUS and childish over-analysis you included above about where and when and to what I posted responses over the course of 12 days is indicative of what I have known all along, namely you are just flatout obsessed with me and expressing hostility and criticism towards me.)So why don't you do this.....why don't you come over and beat me up, or torture me or otherwise FORCE me to adopt your views and opinions about this country that we BOTH are citizens?  In other words, do things THE NEW 21st century American way (which is essentially: EVERYONE and ANYONE who does NOT agree with the opinion that America is the absolute BEST and is therefore AUTOMATICALLY entitled to everything, while the rest of the world is NOT, can go eat crap and die, because that is the new version of "American patriotism" which you so ignorantly equivocated.)You think America is Great?  Before you mindlessly and impulsively respond to my latest thrashing of YOU, read this website ( I mean really read it and keep in mind it was written in 2012, 5 years ago and does not take into account how much WORSE off we are NOW with the orange haired sociopathic perverted CLOWN as president):http://www.businessinsider.com/here-are ... everything on that website is the COLD hard truth, so take your greatest country bullcrap and eat it......but if you want to talk about how to IMPROVE America (for real) and make it what it was 100 years ago, fine.   The first step to solving problems is admitting they exist.

And for the last time,  ALL I REALLY was saying was a VET is not entitled to win the Price of right ANY MORE than a (for instance) hardworking housewife and mother of four.....its just the way it is.   I do not care if you want to, or prefer to root or pull for a Vet just because you have a thing for Vets....that's great if you do but he or she or it is NOT MORE deserving (nor are they LESS deserving) of winning the price is right. The military has many good exceptional people (even GREAT in certain cases like Jeter's son, or my dad and brother) but sadly is also filled with LOTS of lazy, stupid, otherwise unemployable people who really would not be able to do anything else were it not for the army.     this is nothing new or just my opinion.....this is how its been since Post WWII when the Military Industrial complex took over this country and the USA established a permanent standing military with LOTS of weapons and stuff.....you fail to realize that the first 150plus years the USA did NOT have a large professional military (the founding fathers did not want what we now have, which is WHY they included your BELOVED second amendment in the first place?)See you blustery cowards cannot have it both ways.....you cannot argue that the 2nd amendment is crucial and vital and necessary as written while at the same time supporting and arguing for and in favor of a massive bloated military....nope, doesn't work.God I am brilliant (and you are not)......I should have my own show (and you should not).......Bahahahahahaha

DaBurglar WHERE in any of my posts have I supported and been arguing for and in favor of a massive bloated military? As Eric Stratton would say, "Gee you're dumb."

Here's DaBurglar, still trying to pull out of that flaming steep dive.....

[QUOTE=rascal] DaBurglar, I served as a medical officer with the 9th MEB west of DaNang. Contrary to your characterization of American servicemen, 100% of the Marines I was honored to serve with were (a) volunteers (b) proud of being volunteers, and (c) proud of being given the opportunity to serve their country and their flag WITH HONOR.
Civilians like you can sit in their recliners and criticize without even knowing the facts about what they are criticizing. But take comfort in the very real fact that America's military stands ready 24/7/365 to do whatever they need to do to defend you and your family.
Personally, I think you owe a very sincere apology to every veteran on this board.

Thanks for being there Doc. We were neighbors. I flew out of Marble Mountain and made many a trip to the Naval Hospital in DaNang as well as the Sanctuary in those "new" CH-46's.

Casino Knight, thank you for your service. For a while there NSA DaNang was the best and most advanced emergency medicine facility in the world. But the medical heroes were the guys in the choppers and the corpsmen on the ground --- so I am very glad you were able to go home! As I wrote in my post to DaBurglar, I was honored to serve with the bravest men in the world (you Marines), and all these years later I still consider that being a Marine officer is the most fulfilling occupation ever!

What makes this a great country is you are absolutely free to make an ass out of yourself and others are just as free to let you know what an ass you are.
You choose to make a feel good thread about one of my neighbors winning a lot of money into something else. I've no idea why you choose to be such a whiney lil bastard, but it is your right. You go girl.

So says the resident nihilist....let me see if I can get my secretary to dig up one of your old posts where you rant about your disdain for "feel good posts", and now here you are whining that I somehow sabotaged your own personal. . . "Feel good posts", which in fact I actually did not.....your style and substance is as empty as CET accounts, or Trump's head, take your pick. And then when you're done picking go and poke a pencil up your nose....

Rascal, don't sell yourself short. For Marines, you guys are still First Among Equals. Thanks for being there. Were it not for folks like you, there would have been a lot more of those aluminum boxes at the end of the runway.
