Re: Duces
Very tricky game. Expecting good faith, mature replies is no longer rational anywhere on this forum. The keyboard bullies are so fatiguing to endure.

When the wild royal only pays 100 is holding 3 duces + 2 suited face cards the correct play?

I would ask why you would play a deuces wild game with such a poor wild royal payout, but I might be accused of having an "agenda"
The answer to your question is yes, and it's not really that close a call.

I should perhaps temper that comment a bit, as there are some deuces wild games paying 100 for a wild royal that aren't all that bad.onemoretry wrote: ↑Mon Sep 03, 2018 9:24 amI would ask why you would play a deuces wild game with such a poor wild royal payout,

Virtually all video poker games come with various pay schedules requiring different playing strategies. Personally, I have not found deuces wild any more difficult to learn than any other game, and easier than some. The most difficult of all, for me, was all american poker.FloridaPhil wrote: ↑Mon Sep 03, 2018 4:34 amLike I stated before, Deuces Wild is a very tricky game to play perfectly as there are many different pay schedules and the strategy could be different for each one.

Agreed. When you are talking about playing 100% computer perfect, they all have their challenges. I switched to Bonus Poker last year because I can play it almost 100%.onemoretry wrote: ↑Mon Sep 03, 2018 9:40 amVirtually all video poker games come with various pay schedules requiring different playing strategies. A good question to ask me would be this, "Why do I care about playing 100% perfect if I play VP for entertainment?" The answer is playing computer perfect doesn't cost anything. Playing perfect has the same benefit that playing better games does, you can play more hands for your money. I can't change the odds at my local casino, but I can make less errors.
In the case I gave previously where I might choose to go against the math and hold three deuces, I know going against the math costs me money long term. I consciously make that choice because I want to see more quad deuces and am willing to pay the price. I am more entertained by taking a chance at quad deuces than keeping what the game dealt me. Some members would call that an error and they would be right as far as perfect strategy is concerned

I have FPDW, 10/6 DDB, and 9/6 JoB down pat (not 100% computer perfect, but the mistakes I make are tiny, so my EV is like 99.9-100%). I figure knowing those will let me play most of the best games at most casinos fairly well.onemoretry wrote: ↑Mon Sep 03, 2018 9:40 amVirtually all video poker games come with various pay schedules requiring different playing strategies. I really have trouble with the games that pay 5 for a straight or 7 for a flush (and forget about 10/7/5 Double Bonus), so I tend to just stay away from those altogether.

Works great for me. My rent goes up $50 next month, but they threw in two months of free cable. It's still about half what a similar one on Long Island runs. As I pay less for rent now than I paid in NY State and local taxes, it's like living for free.
Vegas's real estate market is crazy. Zero to sixty and back again. Rentals were a bargain for years because of all the underwater homes people were renting out. Now they are not.
My rent, water, common charges, and trash are just about $1100 a month. For a two bedroom, two bath in a gated community with a 24 hour gym, two pools, two dog parks, and a clubhouse.
A similar townhouse would run about $200,000. If I invest the money and get a six percent return, I cover my rent and keep my capital liquid. It's amazing what gets auctioned off out here on a weekly basis.
