Re: Things I Do...Things I've observed
Shadowman,
You mentioned one-eyed jacks. Is that similar to double joker poker? What is the payback on that game. thanks.
It is similar yet quite a bit different. There are many paytables. The best for two pair or better is 4000,1000,375,250,75,25,15,10,5,5. It returns 100.28%. I've seen them at Santa Fe Station and Sunset Station in Vegas, and in many places in MN. The other good version lowers the wild royal from 1000->900 and raises the 5oak from 375->400. This version returns 99.96%.
The game has probably the most difficult strategy in all of VP.

Texas Station recently installed the game with the first pay scale you mentioned. Quarters only. Thanks again.

Are these $2 for one point? I suspect so since they are at the other two Stations.
I forgot to mention that Excalibur has the 99.96 version in dollars.

Shadow, that game has the OEJ's as wild cards or is that Joker Poker you're quoting?

Nope, not Joker poker.
For those who haven't played either game, double Jokers has 54 cards including the jokers. In OEJs there are a total of 52 cards with the Jacks of hearts and spades wild. You can almost think of them being jokers with the jacks removed from the deck, except for the natural royals in hearts/spades where they are treated as non-wild cards.

I didnt know the wild jacks werent counted as wild cards in royals! Its one of the reasons I never played it-I thought it was taking 2 royals out of the mix-AHA!

There aren't many of these machines available because there aren't many dumb enough players available to play them. Stick with FPDW and save the sucker games for suckers.

Bolt, don't mince words - tell us what you REALLY think.
There are a couple of reasons why OEJs with the pays mentioned earlier in the thread isn't available at more casinos. First, in most states casinos aren't allowed to offer any VP with ERs greater than 100.0%. Second, casinos make more off of games with lower ERs.

Yes, oej719, this post does resemble ones from your favorite con man. It is simply ridiculous (as was his post on full pay).
In many casinos the OEJs is the ONLY positive game available and returns 2-3% better than the next best game. Anyone who thinks players are "dumb" to play a game that has a much higher return has already given us great insight into his knowledge of VP.
