Question about taking pics in casino

A policy that wasn't enforced much anymore; except by overzealous security guards lacking in common sense and customer service...Oh so true, I have taken many pictures of my big wins and have never had a problem with any on the casino's staff. Years ago yes, the casino's frowned on anyone that carried a camera into the casino.

The important word here is: intent. If casino staff would stop and determine what a person's intent is when taking pictures, it could difuse things a bit.

You would think the casinos would want all of the free advertising. Besides, who is going to take pictures of 30 straight dud hands and post them here. Well, er uh..there might be one person I know that would do that.

I have asked permission 2x to take photo of wins. Both times the attendant said it was ok. one even asked if I wanted her to take it so I could be in the photo. Different casinos, so I guess it depends on where you are.

I take pictures of my wins frequentley. Only a few times have I actually been asked to not take pictures.

  I've mentioned before that Harrah's in Joliet, IL doesn't allow pictures. The ones I have taken I was able to snap them before a slot attendant arrived.

This is the only time at Downstream that I've had this problem. Most casinos have realized with smart phones it is impossible to prevent photos from being taken. The only other time recently that I've had a potential problem is when I was taking photos of the pay tables and games on a new All Star machine at a bar. A suit showed up and stood behind me. I turned and explained to him I was taking the pictures so I could come back and practice the games on my computer. He resumed his other duties. Ironically this is the most liberal and best marketing casino I've ever played. They will take and post your picture on their site, post all hand pays and encourage players to share your hit photos with friends.

I've taken photos all over Atlantic City and Pennsylvania, and was only warned once by a security guard. He smiled and said "Please don't take a photo," and I said okay. When he walked away, I took the photo

Nothing is sweeter than going over all my good hands when I'm in a slump. It helps me to remember that there are good days and not-so-good days.
