right play or wrong play????

Discuss proper hold strategies and "advantage play" and ask questions about how to improve your play.

spx,

Solid response. I don't mean to go on attack, I apologize. However, the LIVE POKER info you received I believe was mis-construed. What, I believe, they were trying to commune is that the randomness of the deals and draws are equal to the randomness of a LIVE POKER deal and draw from a once shuffled deck. The constant shuffling RNG before/after the deal and before the draw has been in play for about 20 years.

damule, I think it's just a little over 10 years. So, if spx's email was from that period then it makes more sense. The continuous shuffle method supposedly started with the Game King platform. I believe that came out in 1999 or 2000.

As for no one making a profit as spx claimed ... that is just nonsense. I know many players that make a profit every year, including myself. I often get the feeling that people assume no one wins in order to justify playing less than optimally. No justification is needed. Each to their own.

Your still young...

As for the time period that would be close maybe even before because I started out in 1993 and the response was something to the effect that the game shuffles to generate a virtual deck from which the cards are dealt.

Don't I wish.

I suspect I will have a losing year eventually. However, it can never make up for the total amount won over the last 12 years since I starting using proper technique. Keep in mind that during the time I was in Las Vegas I was playing with advantages of over 2% quite often. Even with poor luck a person is generally going to win at that level.

If you are constantly making a profit playing VP then you have figured it out and mastered it. Ive spent countless hours playing, reading and studying the game for years. I on the other hand feel that some people also fool theirselves into believing that they are ahead in order to continue to play. If the true masters of these games would have such an advantage then why would they write books, create games, make videos, simenars, etc..........All of which cost money to purchase.{how they profit} EX= I find an ATM machine that dispenses 2 $20 dollar bills when only 1 $20 bill is requested. I doubt that I would be so eager to share this info or write a book about it. Not attacking anyone personally, just an opinion. One thing that I have figured out is that a HUGE bankroll would be neccessary to even come close to profit from games of FP potentiaL CONSTANTLY. Either way, it is the funnest game to play in a casino.

brmcc74, put yourself in the position of someone who knows how to profit from gambling ... but not get rich. I think that is the key, you can win money but you're never going to get rich playing VP.

So, wouldn't you look at other ways to increase your earnings?

Believe me, not all professionals were happy about the few that decided to take this route. Most of the good plays have disappeared. It's much tougher making a buck these days. However, I don't fault those that made the choice to sell their knowledge. Eventually, someone was going to do it.

Almost all the better plays are now gone. And, since I left Vegas a year and a half ago I can't even say if any of them are still around.

Also, since I was a local I took advantage of point multipliers, promotions and such that aren't always available to visitors.

That said, just before I left I was playing .50 fpdw at Skyline, (.25, .50) SDB 5-play or $ NSUD games on multiplier days at SouthPoint, .25 BP triple-play progressives and .25 JOB progressives at Sam's Town, the .25 full pay games at the eastside Cannery and the .25 FPDW progressive at Palms. I also played a little on the optimums at Fiesta Henderson and their .25 triple play BP.

Since I knew I was leaving I didn't do a lot of scouting to see if better games were available.
